Do not use them they are useless. Staff turnover over is massive, poor communication, admin ( for example they are unable to find a contract they claim my tenant signed) etc and if you have a problem and need to escalate they refuse to give the phone number of the Area Manager. If you email him he fails to respond. The office is not sufficiently manned in order for phone calls to be picked up.Totally unprofessional.

24 Apr 2017Thank you for taking the time to write a review, however, I do feel this to be very unfair and wrongly written. In regards to the turnaround of staff, yes there has been a turnaround of staff but this is for the better. The two staff members that are in the office now are permanent and have been established since June 2016, and has helped bring a new lease of life into the office. Both members of staff are very polite and courteous to both their landlords and tenants. In respect of the comment made about our line Manager's number, it is true that we cannot give out his number as this is due to the fact it is a mobile number and will breach data protection, something we adhere to strongly at Connells. The failed response was due to our Manager having two days off as annual leave and you demanding a response within a unfair time for the information you require. Our phone calls are picked up promptly; however, if you ask for a particular person and they are on the other line it is out of our control. We also remained in a calm and professional manner throughout the conversation on 21st April 2017 whilst you shouted unnecessarily at a member of staff down the phone and were very rude to the Manager. The comment about our fees is again unfair as we are not only competitive but we certainly are not the most expensive on the market. Also, you were satisfied with the fee level at the start of the contract, 13 months ago.

24 Apr 2017Comments re staff turnover stands - I have had 4 different contacts in less than 12 months. Whether the changes are for the better only time will tell. Area Manager should have a business mobile and shouldn't use personal mobile for business purposes. There then would be no data breach. Area Manager should have cover in place when he is out of the office for planned absence. The world shouldn't stop because he is out of the office. Copy of a contract should be immediately available as its the basis of your service - ridiculous to suggest anything else. To say my timeframe was unfair is Connell's perception not mine. I expect much faster responses - in my business I have to. Comment stands. My experience of calling the Christchurch office is that the phone is rarely answered in a timely manner - in my office it is 3 rings - if at all. I accept if someone else is on the phone and I wish to talk with them , I can't however , I expect it to be picked up at the very least. The only way I can get any action from Connell's is to shout! There is no sense of urgency and appreciation of or understanding of my business. For example the Manager advised me that they couldn't tell me how long it was going to take to obtain the contract - this is unacceptable. Comment re the fees stands. At the time we agreed the fees Connell's sold me a service I they have failed to deliver. I added the cavaet that the fees were excessive for the service received to date - I stand by that.

I feel the fees Connells ask for are extremely just and fair. I had other agents offer me cut price fees to compete with Connells but, I feel with the service given the fees are at an extremely generous rate!

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
