The worse estate agents you will ever deal with. Please never use Meller Braggins if you want a web of lies!! I rented a property through Meller Braggins. Before moving in I was promised multiple things by Hayden Bennett (who has now left) which did not happen. To start with the property was filthy and was told it was apparently cleaned before moving date. I struggled to see where. The house was smelly dusty and dirty it took days to clean to a suitable standard. I was told that the gas fire was to be connected to a later date found out the fire had never been connected and was just left an open pipe and we would never have it fixed. The shower in the bathroom was hanging off the wall and we where told to hold the shower in the hand or fix it ourselves. The bathroom taps where running scolding dangerous water in which I burnt myself on surely as a duty of care this should of been checked. There where Rats running around in the garden, the garden being one of the most scruffiest gardens I have ever seen. Needless to say when I rang the office they where not bothered and laughed it off. I must of sent an email a day to try and get these issues fixed but i just got fobbed off by the rude and un caring staff. But the worse is yet to come.. On the tuesday morning we woke up to a flood coming through the ceiling through the front bedroom and down in to the Kitchen. The flood water had reached 4 Inches. Luckily my partner was able to stop the flood water and turn off the electric's. We showed up to the office at 9 am in floods of tears. The staff showed no urgancy to the matter. We had people turning up to the house with no warning to look at the flood damage. The flood was down to lack of care in the property by the landlord- We also only had one gas safe certificate for downstairs and upstairs boiler was never checked. This was a care and safety duty which should of been carried out by Meller braggins Upon deciding to vacate the property as it was deemed inhabitable the treatment got worse. we were promised hotel bills to be covered and moving costs. Shock!!! this didn't happen again- More lies. what make is worse is that they even tried to take money off us out of the deposit as we had started to paint the ceiling in the living room to tidy up the property. We hadn't finished the ceiling because of the leak, but they had the nerve to try and charge us even though alot of our belongings had been destroyed in the flood. The staff in the Northwich branch treated my partner unfairly as he was dealing with the matter for me as I am an Anxiety sufferer. Please be warned from these people!!
