They never answer correspondence, their 'official' complaints procedure is a joke as that too is ignored, their own correspondence is often barely coherent, rambles incessantly and fails to make any sort of point beyond sounding patronising and inexpert. They continually threaten court action, but never follow through with it, lest their corrupt practices be exposed before a judge. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Crooks, pure and simple. 29 May 2014Interesting that Macfie's first response, upon seeing criticism, is to resort to their usual mix of paranoia and passive aggression. The whole point of this site is that it allows clients, most of whom have no say in choosing their agent as by the time they buy their property it's a done deal, an anonymous and safe environment in which they are free to air their views on an agent's performance without concern they may be targeted by any sort of intimidation. So just for the record Mr Walker - we have spoken face to face on a number of occasions, and it has been difficult for me to penetrate that unique shield you have, concocted as it is from a heady confection of innate dimness and prehensile bearing. It felt like talking to one of the monkeys that wasn't quite bright enough to train. Please bear in mind when you talk to other people: they WILL judge you on the fact you cannot properly pronounce simple, everyday words. Similarly, I shall not waive my right to anonymity, for I represent all of your clients. This is what we all think of you. Your livelihood is dependent upon disappointment. That TV you watch? The kettle you boil to make your tea? Every time you flick a switch to turn on your overhead light? All paid for by the frustration others feel at your incompetence. I urge you, implore you...give up. You're still not too old. Go and do something positive with your life: learn the banjo. Make a giant model of the Brooklyn Bridge from matchsticks. Memorise and recite Infinite Jest without recourse to the text. Then, and only then, will you have done something positively creative with your life. Hope this helps.

£30 per quarter is fine if they do anything for their money. It's a rip off with MacFie because they do nothing. They struggle to reply to emails, get invoices correct or even get quotes for work required on the building.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
