My Husband and I booked a viewing to see a property in Manchester through Right Move. We arrived at the property and the Agent showed us around the property, where we asked all the questions we needed to regarding the property, which we were so excited and happy about, it was an absolutely fantastic property, and almost too good to be true!!! We were asked to pay a Joint Reference Fee of 280.00 and were informed of all the documents needed to be sent to their offices. That same day we paid over the required fee and as sent all the required documents to Allison&Co. 2 days later after arriving back in London. We informed our Agent that time was of the essence and that we needed to move in within 2 weeks as our current lease would expire by then. We never thought it would be a problem as the advert on RightMove indicated that the property is available immediately. Well....2 weeks came and went, we moved out of our rental property in London and set off on the trains to Manchester. A day after arriving here, we called Allison&Co to check up on our Referencing, only to find out they now required more documents to complete the referencing process which was not conveyed to Us for almost 2 Weeks and that they had only sent off all the information to be referenced after we had already arrived in Manchester ready to move in and expecting their efficiency to be quicker than 2 weeks to require 1 piece of information!!! We are spending 80.00 a night for a hotel for the next 6 days totaling 480.00, and who knows how longer it will take and cost us!!! Their lack of professionalism is pricing us out of the property that their own Agency is trying to Rent US. Clearly this company is not in the correct industry!

26 Apr 2016Dear tenants, Thank you for your feedback. We do conduct very comprehensive referencing on behalf of our landlord clients. What you have failed to include in the review is how you yourself contributed to the delay in processing your application. Firstly you did not supply all the supporting documents we require, then you declared a current employment on your application which omitted the contact details for an employment reference - this subsequently turned out to be * ("this section has been edited as the agent's response was deemed to contravened our terms and conditions ")* Had we known you were not working we would have advised you at the outset that a guarantor would be required however your application form mis-stated your position. Having to obtain a guarantor and then reference that person invariably adds more time to the processing. It is very rare (and unprofessional) for any Letting Agent to confirm a date you can move into a property without fully completing the referencing stage. It is my understanding you had to vacate your London property on a specific date anyway hence why you were already on route to Manchester, so there was always a chance your referencing would not be complete by then but we did our best to accommodate your request given the obstacles. I am pleased you did move in successfully in the end and hope your tenancy is smooth running hereonin.

25 Aug 2016This is possibly the most unprofessional response I've seen. Referencing specific details regarding a tenants reference and situation is disgusting. The fact you can't even spell en route correctly is a tell tale sign that you are a mickey mouse company . Deary, Deary me!

This company practically forced us to sell with them. We liked a house they had for sale and they said the vendor would not sell to us unless we sold our property through them. Completely cocked up the sale of our property, lied to us, and when we wished to terminate our contract, they refused to... Read Full Review

It was the worst experience ever. Last May, when we signed our contract they did not inform us from the agency that they were already looking to sell the property (something that we later found out from a staff member and from a sales advert online). Also, they used to inform us not even 24 hours... Read Full Review

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
