We sold a property in Letchworth last September through Connells. Generally they gave the impression that we were low priority. One of the most irritating things was that we constantly had to chase them up because they took ages to get back to us. At one point, after waiting 4 or 5 days for a call back, I was told that Glenn was a very busy man and he didn't have time to get back to everyone. Apparently he neither had time to ask one of his assistants to get in touch. The situation was that we wanted to close the deal quicker than Connells wanted to. I was asking them to contact the buyer to close the deal in August as there was no reason to wait longer, eventually Glenn called me to say he had contacted the buyer and secured an exchange for August.We of course were happy and, as I didn't want to wait an eternity for Connells to pull their finger out, I called the buyer to discuss some details the following day. The buyer told me he had made no agreement for an August exchange.Furious, I immediately called Connells and was told Glenn had gone on holiday and that they were sorry, they couldn't do anything.Shocking behavior. I'm sure he did this to appease me not knowing I was in touch with the buyer. Part of our original agreement was that we would get back the advertising cost of 238 pounds if they sold the property. After 6 months, we've just received that. Steer clear of Connells in Letchworth. Either it's incompetence or deception. Which would you prefer from your estate agent?

Quite cheap and we got exactly what we paid for. In the context of time and irritation, very expensive.

A sensible valuation meant that we got an offer within the first month. That was when Connells really started earning their commission. What agent could do to change your mind?
To understand that their customer has a voice, a mind and an opinion. They can do what they wish with regards to their purchase - Connells have to learn that they do not have ANY right to sway (either themselves or under the guise of \"the vendor\") MY CHOICE of mortgage provider. Also, Connells should have a good (that is - non-generic) statement for Anne Robinson - I may have been in touch with a certain BBC Consumer Advice show.

Connells deceived me into thinking i only had to pay £99 plus vat for HIP pack back in 2009. Then 17 months later and only 3 viewings they took my house off the market and said i had to pay them £465.07. Now nearly 5 years later its nearly £1000 and taking me to court.
