I rented with this estate agents back in July 2015, my experience was not very pleasant; as a previous tenant i wouldn't recommend this particular estate agents to anyone. There are many factors as to why my opinion is as such; during my time renting with lawlors communication has been a major issue, after my contract for the flat ended in February 2016, i was told that i would get my deposit at the end of the month but nothing was being transferred after the month had ended. I've tried countless times to contact them but all i was told was to leave my account number and that they would sort it out; i tried to get into contact with the manager but his colleague would either say he is in a meeting or he wasn't in work today, frustrated as i am i continued to call but the staff kept on telling me the same thing, after countless calls i managed to get into contact with the manager, i explained my situation and my response was that he was very short tempered, dishonest and rude. He wasn't true to his word on meeting me, he told me to come into the branch and when i did he refused to come out and see me, instead his staff served me which i must say they were also rude. After leaving the branch i got an email mentioning that i would receive my deposit but not the full amount, I emailed the manager back asking him to explain but he said that a couple of things were' broken' in the flat, this was very silly as i had my inventory checked after i moved out, the person who checked everything at the flat said everything was OK and both he and I signed a paper to confirm this'; the person said that i should have no problem in receiving the full amount. but clearly this was not the case as the manager was being petty and trying to accuse me of breaking things when in reality everything was in good condition, in fact the 'broken' item was actually broken before i moved in. Another problem that i faced was rats, because of this problem i had to leave the flat two months before my flat contract ended, i mentioned this problem to Lawlors but nothing was being done, they didn't even tell the landlord to come down and check out the problem. The flat itself was very stuffy and lacked air ventilation, the windows didn't open properly and also the were a lot of trash outside the flat. An unused lorry was stationed outside the flat and needless to say there was rats there as well. My overall experience with Lawlors is very disappointing, I wouldn't recommend this Agent to anyone.

8 Dec 2016We have tried to assist these tenants in whichever way possible. We even paid for the first visit made by the Pest Control company ourselves in order to try to resolve the matter but to no avail. Pest control is actually the tenants' responsibility, not the landlords but some tenants believe that the landlord is responsible for everything, even their own personal problems. Regarding the deposit: If the landlord wishes to file a claim against the tenant's deposit, there are certain procedures which need to be adhered to. The deposit is registered with the TDS and they stipulate the procedures for handling such matters.

11 May 2017DO NOT USE - they scam whoever they can. they took my deposit money on the basis I had failed my checks however I used the company homlet to see for myself and firstly the cost was much lower. lawlors charged me £200 but when I went direct to Homelet they charged £30 only. they also gave me a completed tenancy check that passed. when I requested a copy of what they had received they refused to provide me with it, FYI it is your legal right to see any documentation with your name on it as it is including a credit check you have every right to ask for this information. they were extremely rude after finding out I had the correct passed checks done and told me they would not help me as they felt I had gone behind their back - we are not in school anymore. really not professional. I would advise everyone to stay away!!!!

21 Oct 2019I am not surprised at all by the above claims. The very person replying to these comments is the most rude. Would not recommend dealing with this estate agent. I had a very lucky escape. I went to view one of the properties they are managing in Crayford and planned to move forward with the process, however, due to the actions of one of their employees, Fahad Malik, I have not felt comfortable doing so. While I understand it is the estate agents’ responsibility to get tenants into the property, it should be done in the most professional way. Unfortunately I don’t think Fahad conducted his approach with me with much respect, even citing that I "wasn’t a customer yet" so didn’t need to be treated with respect or dealt with professionally. The company claim you want to be know as an Agent you would recommend to a friend??? Unfortunately, I don't think this employee adhered to their ethos in this instance. I felt like i was being pushed into something quite forcefully and aggressively, while he claimed sarcastically that I should have called from the building site like everybody else - then again later telling me there was only one flat left (after originally telling me there was two 5 mins ago) and I should have been quicker to respond. I have had a couple of people call up since then and unsurprisingly there are still properties remaining. He mentioned that it was him that reached out to me after the viewing implying I should almost be grateful?? This forceful approach with potential clients/tenants is unacceptable and should be addressed. Terrible service providers!!!

4 Mar 2021This agency is a bug scam. * is a very rude and unprofessional character. I had a very stressful experience getting my deposit back which took a whole 2 years and involved the ombudsman. Unnecessary charges were also deducted from my deposit to which I had never agreed and were imposed on me. These folks have no ethics. I guess they will rot in hell, if there is one for such idiots.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
