Possibly the worst estate agents I have ever used. They sent around a very personable sales person who promised the earth, kept in touch and was exceedingly helpful but disappeared the minute we signed the contract. After that a junior in the office who hadn't even visited our house appeared to be looking after our sale. Ahead of signing we were assured that anyone who conducted viewings would be familiar with the house. This wasn't the case and there was a different person for each viewing. On each occasion the person was supposed to arrive 15/20 minutes ahead of the viewers to give time to get to know the house which didn't happen, they arrived at the exact same time as the viewers. I received feedback that the brochure/photographs were hugely inferior to other (cheaper!) High Street agents. We were concerned up front that the valuation was slightly on the high side but were assured they had confidence in their valuation and didn't want to revise it. Additionally they stated that if a sale wasn't forthcoming fairly quickly they wouldn't ask us to reduce the price until every other aspect of their marketing had been exhausted. Three weeks in, guess what happened? Yes, they wanted to reduce the price! It's a shame that the team can't deliver what the sales person promises in order to get the listing. When I emailed to give the disappointing feedback I had a very nice response from the manager who said he would like to discuss - shame he didn't bother to follow up. I wouldn't recommend using John D Wood and will be sharing my experience as widely as possible to hopefully help others avoid being disappointed in the same way. It all sounds great while they're trying to secure you as a client but it's all smoke and mirrors!
Higher than other High Street estate agencies because apparently they pride themselves on a superior service!

Don't touch with a barge pole. These people couldn't be less interested in helping me find a property and didn't seem to be bothered to sell any to me at all. I was interested in one in a village setting but the agent was so unenthusiastic I steered clear. The poor seller... what a ... Read Full Review

The good news was that they found us a buyer! The bad news is that their quest to push through our sale led them to behave in an aggressive and underhand manner, trying to force things forward when we weren't yet ready on our purchase. Their 'front end' spiel was good but once a buyer had been... Read Full Review

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
