Had nothing but trouble with this agency. Starting with them demanding I pay an extra £600 deposit as they couldn't get in touch with my previous landlord for a reference despite the fact I sent them 2 years of bank statements showing I received a full deposit back from previous property and that my rent was ALWAYS paid on time. I had to take out a loan to cover this hoping it would be worth it. I was wrong. The second day I was in the property the agent let herself and the landlord in whilst I had a towel wrapped round me about to have a bath, I suffer wither bipolar and severe anxiety so this really upset and worried me for a couple of days. I had no apology for this just an excuse that she didn't know I had moved in yet. Poor communication. The place had not been cleaned to a good standard and there was thick mould behind the drawer in the washing machine and the dishwasher was caked in mould and rotting food. This was noted down on my inventory as apparently it was an issue they were advised to rectify. There is a split in the bedroom door causing it not to fully close that they were also told to rectify and did not. The main problem I had was with the fridge, it had been making a large humming sound since I moved in which an agent assured me it was 'just a noisy fridge' I woke up one Saturday and the fridge and freezer had broken down making over £100 worth of food inedible. I rang up the agency and was assured they'd have a guy round within 48hours. 3 WEEKS LATER, the fridge freezer was replaced. The humming noise was actually a sign the compressor was going according to the specialist that came round. I had to get my mum to speak on my behalf as the stress of it all was causing my anxiety to go through the roof. After enquiringly about some kind of compensation in the form of food vouchers, my mother rang Ann 4 times and each time was told she would call her back but a week later my mum got fed up and emailed the agency to have a response a couple of days later saying in a long winded way that it was not their problem. I couldn't afford to eat Atleast 2 days a week. If it was my own fridge I would of rectified the problem within a few days which I offered to and then invoice them, this offer was declined and then I was kept waiting another 2 weeks. I urge everyone to steer clear of this agency until they hire workers that aren't totally inept. I am going to be having as little contact with them as possible because trying to converse with them about problems makes me lose brain cells. If I lose too many, I may have to quit my job and become a letting agent.
What agent could do to change your mind?

Moved in to a mould riddled broken old tip with hardcore, broken tiles, timber with nails sticking out, dirty walls windows and rancid kitchen. They need to think more about how there negligence effects there tenance and how they are letting young family suffer in less then satisfactory conditions. The sales people are as bad as the company

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
