I viewed and rented a property through Aston Mead so they held my deposit. The landlord approved the full deposit release. Firstly they tried to deduct a renewal fee from my deposit. This matter took 3 days to process and the branch advised me that the money had been requested for release from their Account Department. I chased the next day twice and another member of staff called Jenny said she would phone Accounts and advise. She did not have the courtesy to phone me on Friday or Monday the following week either after subsequent phone calls. It took me to visit the Sales Office of Aston Mead today....9 days on to what appears to finally get this matter moving. Another phone call which I had to make to the Lettings Office and refused to leave the call until I received an explanation. Apparently the money has been paid today to reach my Account by Thursday. The lack of communication and customer service is appalling. Think twice about renting through them as I understand they are part of Leaders Lettings now.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
