I had an offer accepted on a property through this estate agent, I instructed a survey and 1 week after this received a phone call to say someone had put in a higher offer. I tried to match this offer only to be outbid again. This was appalling practice and this estate agent allowed us to be gazumped and didn't appear to care they seemed to be only interested in making more money - avoid at all costs!

9 Nov 2015Thank you for the review and comments therein. I fully appreciate and understand your frustration. The current market is incredibly competitive from a Purchasers point of view making it increasingly difficult to secure a property. As an agent we have a legal obligation to put forward any offers that are made on a property and it is the Vendors decision as to how they proceed, not ours. To be completely transparent the monetary value to us as a Company between the two offers is negligible. In instances like this I can assure you we always remind the Vendor of the moral side of things when making their decision. I truly appreciate your frustration but have to make clear it is an issue with our house buying process that allows this to happen, not Estate Agents, and ultimatley it is the Home Owner's final decision as to which offer is accepted. I'm always to talk to at the Office if need be.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
