Don't waste your time trying to sell a property through this firm. Shane (cant remember his last name) came out to value our house, promised us the Earth, sounded as though he would sell it in a matter of days and did get a viewing within about 2 days of it going on the market. However, that was the only viewing they managed in 3 1/2 months. Just over 2 weeks after taking on our property Shane left for another job and clearly was more concerned about that than about promoting our house. We were then passed on to Nick Cruse, who initially sounded competent but then went off on holiday - again, nothing happening. I know that they can't force people to view but they didn't seem to be doing anything apart from putting it on the usual websites (and I did tell them that I didn't think their photos were very good but they didn't pay any attention) They promised to call every 2 weeks with any news but often this did not happen and it also seemed as though they only made any effort, such as telephoning people on their mailing list or putting the house in the paper, the day before they called me so that they would have something to say. Once I telephoned and was told that they were short staffed and really busy - I don't think this is a valid excuse for not passing on an important message from me. The final straw came when I had asked to be called again in 2 weeks time and distinctly remember saying that they should call on Friday July 31st, not Saturday July 1st, as I intended to go out that day. They did not call on the Friday and as I unexpectedly had to go to Harrogate on the Saturday, I called in. When I pointed out that I had been expecting a call the previous day, I certainly did not expect Mr Cruse to contradict me repeatedly and be rude to me in front of the shop staff and other customers! I asked for my house key back and said that I was taking the property out of their hands. He then claimed that someone was coming to view the following Tuesday and so I agreed that he could return the key after that. When I called on the Wednesday to find the result of the viewing (note - I had to call them) I was not altogether surprised to find that it hadn't taken place, apparently the prospective viewers hadn't turned up. This branch wasted 3 1/2 months of my time and I can find nothing positive to say about them, I was given poor service throughout and they tried to make me feel that I was in the wrong for their lack of success. I would suggest that prospective sellers go somewhere else.

William H Brown (Sequence) has been managing my apartment for approximately 4 years. I live overseas and divide my time between my apartment in Harrogate and my home in CA. My apartment is rented out on short term leases. This adds an element of complexity to the management process. My direct... Read Full Review
As I rent out my apartment on short term leases, it is a challenge paying sign up and inventory fees every few months. It would be helpful if the agents offered me a discount on the fees for this particular kind of rental. The 10% monthly management fee is, however, money well spent.
