Nice as pie before you give them any money and sign the contract. Once you do, it all changes. I was shouted at for what Paul thought was a silly question within minutes of signing the contract. Day 1 Sink was blocked and I was expected to pay to sort it. Paul told me that the place comes with fridge and washing machine, what they didn't tell me is the washing machine did not work and they decided they weren't responsible for it and wanted me to pay for a new one. Excessive mould in the property, Patricia told me to stop using the heating and to open all the windows 24hrs a day in the middle of winter. Then the roof had a big leak in it which Patricia told me that I should find where it is coming from in the roof. Finally environmental health had to be called as this agency was refusing to deal with any of the problems. 3 months later the hole in the roof was fixed, whilst I was expected to take time off work at my own expense to let builders in and out. Flat was not very clean when I moved in, but when I moved out they expected it to be shiny and spotless. Deposit took 2 months to get back. Plenty more problems occurred. They promised a lot to get you in and then did very little. The most disrespectful agency I've ever had the misfortune of using. Don't sign unless you want endless hassle, because once there is a problem you are generally ignored.

Austin Bond are the worst estate agents in Portsmouth. Upon moving into the property there was mould, damp, woodworm and dirt throughout which took extensive cleaning from the three tenants and their families. We took out a ten month student contract but they have made it eleven and refusing to budge.Also they wouldn't fix the washing machine for a month when it had dirty smelly water in it,and you couldn't use the sink.
