I was a tenant in the Stansted area and Savills Bishops Stortford was the agency. I was misled in terms of aircraft noise by both landlord and Savills. On check-in I was confronted with a poorly cleaned house and absolutely filthy cooker. It took the landlord over 2 weeks to rectify the cooker and Savills were of no use. The landlord was appalling and Savills seemingly unable to get him to do what a normal landlord should do eg gas and electricity safety checks and certificates on check-in. Furthermore, at check out Savills colluded with the landlord to extract as much money as possible from my deposit. The dilapidations report by the inventory clerk was not adopted fully by Savills dilapidations team who were rude and dismissive. An awful experience and I would urge people not to use this lettings agency.
