I work for a large housing organisation and am always moving individuals onto alternate accommodation and ensuring rents and charges are paid in on time. there has been nothing but issues with family homes. they charge an extortionate amount for fees and deposit, have been known to increase rent during a tenants stay in a family homes property. it is a legal requirement to know who the landlord but the refuse to give details out. On a particular tenant who went through the rent-deposit scheme, they tried charging nearly 3000 for fees and deposit. There has been a council meeting and it is quickly recognised to stay away from these agents as we can never guarantee a secure home with them or secured rent. The statement you read above have been judged by professional experience and personal experience.

What agent could do to change your mind?

as mentioned above. unjustifiable fees, when the council was told how much the fees were, even they said if you saved a little bit more you may as well go for a mortgage.

Comments on Agent Fees

All fees were extortionate, as we had to pay, £1300 originally, as well as £775 for the first months rent, and £240 to keep a dog at the property
