Agent set up a viewing for 3 properties all in the same block, all of which were advertised as available. The viewing was arranged for 4pm. My girlfriend took a half day from work to go and view the property. After leaving work she was advised that the viewing had been put back to 5pm. This meant she wasted half a day's leave as she finishes at 4 and could have left at normal time had she been advised of this earlier. I left work an hour early to come and view the property. We decided to put an offer in immediately for the 2nd floor flat and the person doing the viewing told us to call the office. On doing so, we were told that the landlord had actually already promised the flat to his daughter's friend but that he would 'let her down gently' and we would have first refusal and would be contacted in the morning. We weren't called in the morning as promised and when we finally got a reply from the estate agent we were told that the landlord had indeed let the flat to his daughter's friend. The service from this estate agent is absolutely laughably poor and I cannot believe that they would bother to hold viewings for a flat where the landlord has already verbally agreed to let it to a family friend. I would suggest that other potential customers avoid this firm or else risk wasting your time and money with these people.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
