[[EDIT ORIGINAL START]] Hi all, Stay away from this estate agent, Jackie and David (MD), they are always lie about different stuff and try to take money first before doing anything in the name of 'taking property off the market', 'reference checks' etc. They dont have any accounts department and David himself deals with all accounts, when there is something to refund either his is on holiday and no other person can do refunds. About the security deposit they always make plans how to take a share out of it, guys its your hard earned money dont let them take a share out of it. They lie about the dates we will refund on that day and then always comes up with some other excuses. i wont deal with them again , worst people to talk with if you have some money with them [[EDIT ORIGINAL END]] Stay away from this estate agent. 3 Jun 2011These comments are sadly untrue. I agree that this person did reserve a property through us on Saturday 21st May. Several messages were left for the landlord on the Saturday. The landlord returned our calls on the following Monday 23rd to inform us that another agent had also taken a holding deposit that Saturday The landlord requested a reference race, sadly not uncommon in these situations. This is where the first applicant with an acceptable reference gets the property. The obvious risk is you may not get the property but you will still have spent your reference/admin fees with nothing to show for it. This person was advised not enter into this race. A full refund was offered and their bank account details were requested. We finally received these details on Thursday afternoon and the refund was sent from our bank at 9.36am Saturday. Less than 48 hours after receiving the bank details, so we are hardly dragging our feet.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
