Barnsdales from the moment the contract was signed have been abysmal. The day after the contract was signed and I moved in I noticed that the windows levers were broken and that the latches on most of the doors had been painted over as well as damaged panels on the doors due to the carpeting that had been fitted as well as damp in the cupboard and concern that the wall in kitchen was discoloured and soft underneath the wallpaper. After I notified them about this at their office with pictures, a while later they then accused me of causing most of these problems during a phone call where no conclusion was reached. After a week or so they then came to fox the windows and the doors. The damp though has never been addressed in the three years we have been at the property which has only progressed and gotten worse and despite numerous times contacting the agent has still done nothing about it. It is now difficult to breathe in the house which was especially exemplified when an asthmatic came in and had to use her inhaler 6 times in as many hours. There are yet still more problems with the house that has never been addressed but to summarize our tenancy, Barnsdales seems not to care about its tenants or any of their legal obligations at all.

8 Aug 2014As the actual address is not given it is difficult to comment. DN4 could be Hexthorpe? We are not aware of any problems at properties we manage in the DN4 postcode with the exception of Spansyke Street, is this the property? The fact that this person has lived at the property for three years seems strange if there were on going issues. If the person who has made this allegation could provide us with more information we would be very happy to try and help further.

25 Apr 2019So not under any circumstances get involved with Barnsdales letting agents. We are home owners living next door to tenants and they are a nightmare. They constantly stare down our drive at us they have been allowed to attach items to our garage wall without our permission and it took a year to get items removed . We are still waiting for the garage wall to be fixed. They have been allowed to put up fencing and what a shoddy job to say the least. I have emailed J Barnsdale and he won’t reply. I have now said the police will be called as it’s invasion of privacy and gross intrusion into our privacy.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
