Duncan Raistrick used to be a very good estate agent under Mr Raistrick himself however this is my personal experience. BEWARE of a certain bungalow property they are advertising in Thornton, had it on their books for some time, the price keeps on increasing every couple of months. I feel this agent has failed me. I offered full asking price but was told shortly after the vendor wanted another £2500, reluctantly I agreed. You see this was meant to be for my father who is confined to his bed, Physically disabled in poor health so time is of the essence. We agreed the new inflated price I told Raistrick SUBJECT TO SURVEYOR, as you would expect if any problems was flagged up the vendor would come to some arrangement with the price as faults were found, nope he refused! I am out of pocket several hundreds of pounds for surveyor and Solicitor time spent on this. The Surveyor found woodworm in the loft. My point is Raistrick failed to make it clear with the vendor that our offer was condition/subject to surveyor and had they been honest with me that the vendor would not budge on price if anything was found I would never have pursued this. I contacted Duncan raistrick, spoke with them and despite several emails of complaint they are still acting as his agent, I fear others will lose money just as my Father did, Shame on you for not doing the decent thing. I am in the process of reporting this to the appropriate authorities.
