I would not use the agent again
- Services:
- Sales (as a Buyer)
Purchased through their Kimbolton office.
Constantly late for viewings (15 - 20 minutes) and disinterested whilst conducting them.
Lied to us when we viewed one house telling us that cracks in the wall were minor and cosmetic. An engineers report confirmed that the house was suffering from level 3 subsidence. We then found out that Simpsons had been aware of this all along!
Failled to inform vendor of the "Falling down house" that we had totally pulled out of any negotiations. 4 days later the vendor called us and asked how things were going! We told them that we had informed Simpsons that we had discounted their house.
When we eventually bought, sadly Simpsons were the selling agents. Poor communications, would not return calls, very unorganised.
Far better agents out there to sell or buy through. Sellers - Don't be taken in by their low commisson rates, you get the service you pay for!
Avoid this Estate Agent!

Oh how I wished I had read this review before using Simpsons, Kimbolton, to try to sell my house!
Yes! I was taken in by the low rates offered to me, and the previous poster is correct when he states "You get what you pay for"
What I got were a bunch of bimbling idiots with no clue regards selling a house in a falling market.
Lazy, incompetant, stupid, clueless, arrogant, did I mention lazy? are all words I would use to describe these jokers.
Don't use as a seller!

I do not agree with your comments. Johnson of Simpson & Partners sold our house. After 3 months with another agent we had given up hope and things dropped quiet. We had spoken to him several times before we transferred to his agency. He was confident and enthusiastic about selling it and found us a buyer within 2 weeks. They kept in touch with updates even after sale was agreed. I would recommend this agent to anyone thinking of selling in Kimbolton.

My wife and I had sold in London earlier in the year and have been looking to get out in to the Cambridgeshire villages. We did the usual and registered with every estate agent we found on 'rightmove'
After an extensive search on the villages we settled for Great Staughton which was convenient for the mainline to London from St Neots.
At the time we had given some of the local estate agents that covered that area our specifications. Frustratingly so as with many estate agents they don't really capture what a customer is actually looking for, let alone send details out when requested. However I must say we were very surprised to read the negative comments about Simpson and Partners. We were fortunate enough to find a home that suited all our our requirements through Simpson's and found the experience to be professional and refreshing.
From our initial contact with them, we were kept updated with regular emails and phone calls of new properties. The team at the Kimbolton office were extremely helpful throughout and we certainly wouldn't hesitate in recommending their services. Having a high profile professional sales background these guys and gals know exactly what they are doing and how to do it - keep up the the good work!!
