We viewed a property and put in an offer of the full 'asking price' to the Agent (chain free and able to complete and exchange as promptly as possible). We had no answer with regards to our offer and meantime whilst waiting to hear the Agent was booking further viewings. Hence our offer was then being used as leverage to insight some kind of bidding war and to try and push for us to pay well over the asking price and market value. We found Sinclairs in Sileby uncommunicative, rude and I have to agree with the gentleman who also left a 1 star, that we were too treated contemptuously. We will not be dealing with this unprofessional Company again and highly advise that anyone looking for an Estate Agent to look elsewhere.

I couldn't agree with this review more. Sinclairs in Sileby are incredibly unprofessional and unhelpful. They bad-mouth other estate agents, don't respond to or action offers and their communication...

Comments on Agent Fees
Over a hundred pounds was paid to Sinclair Estate Agents Ltd before my tenancy started. Apparently this went towards credit / reference checks. I have no idea whether or not this was carried out. Staff would not show me the credit report or offer any proof that checks were actually carried out.
With no proof, and with staff so cagey over what I was actually paying for, I am convinced the cash (Yes cash! No cheques/debit cards accepted here!) went towards their office Christmas party.

Absolutely terrible service from start to finish.
There is no wonder estate agents / lettings agents get a bad name whilst there are companies such as Sinclair Estate Agents Ltd out there.
After selling my house and relocating to a new area at the start of the year I decided to rent a property through Sinclairs before finding somewhere more permanent to live. Pretty much from the moment I signed on the dotted line staff at Sinclairs have been extremely unhelpful, uncommunicative, and at times, rude. Queries / requests were either dealt with in a contemptuous manner or just plain ignored. I have never dealt with an organisation as unprofessional as Sinclair Estate Agents Ltd. Quite where they get all their ringing endorsements from on their website I have no idea. I suppose though if you've been trading since 1997 you're bound to get it right once or twice.
The RICS, ALRA and NAEA logos are all proudly displayed at the bottom of the company's web page. To any prospective tenants thinking of renting through Sinclair Estate Agents Ltd, please do not let this convince you that this is a firm that will act in a professional manner. Be it face to face, on the telephone or on email, as a tenant, staff at Sinclair will treat you with utter contempt.
Fortunately I am in a position to buy my own property and put this last sorry 7 months behind me. However, I feel extremely sorry for the tenants out there who are stuck dealing with this organisation. I shall write to ARLA and the NAEA with my concerns and encourage current like minded tenants to do the same.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
