I have been renting for over 20 years and never had such poor maintenance service. I am endlessly waiting for things to be fixed and issues drag on for months on end each time. The communication between the agency and the contractors never matches and even dangerous issues go on for weeks without resolution. I live in an old house and things go wrong which you would expect, but gutters were hanging off for weeks, downpipes left to rot and a bill to match, water running down the walls from a poorly finished shower. I rented this house in good faith and look after it as I would my own. Georgina tries her best and I appreciate that but I wouldn't use this company again.

From the moment that we became landlords, Simon Blyth Estate Agents have been nothing but professional.
They have kept to their word by ensuring we have had very few weeks of void lets in the last six years.
They are a friendly team and nothing is too much for the lettings department.
We appreciate that our rentals are at the top end of the market, but the service they give to all their clients - no matter what the property - is second to none.
They are excellent at resolving issues with tenants and always work to deliver resolutions that suit both parties.
An excellent estate agent to use and we intend to keep working with them for the foreseeable future. Highly recommended!

I would never normally leave a review based on a single experience but SB have shown nothing but stereo typical behaviour. Nightmare from day 1. They didn't turn up to show me the property, I went rob barnsley office twice to sign contracts and was stood up on both occasions. Iv had no heating or hot water for 4 days no return calls from the energy maintenance mobile number I even txt it with no response. They sent a plumber out as soon as I got through and complained. 2 days later I'm now sat with no heating again as boiler has broke and can't get through to anyone. With a 5 year old! I would avoid this letting agents at all cost!!!

Nobody came to the property when i received the keys as i was told we would go round and do the inventory. they did not turn up and there were marks on the carpets that they said not to worry about even though they were not listed on the inventory they gave me. I asked them to attend so i could voice my concerns and they just said they had made a note of it. Guess what!!!!!!!! i moved out 7 months later and they charge me �250 for cleaning the carpets even though i paid for them to be professionally cleaned twice whilst i was renting. Furthermore they charged me a further �130 for re sealing the bath as they say it had a black mould on it which it did not and they claimed they had to paint the splashback on the sink which had been painted and tiled. Guess who were doing these so called repairs???????? Simon Blyth maintenance department, the same maintenance department that could not even be bothered to come out and put a light in the fridge and in the cooker hood even though they agreed it should be done. When i challenged them over withholding the bond they said they did not have to justify anything to me i.e no pictures of before or after, alleged marks on the carpets.etc etc.

Extremely disappointed with Simon Blyth Holmfirth Lettings. Had to chase up late rental payments from tenants, because Simon Blyth Lettings Holmfirth don't bother checking their records.
House inspections are a waste of time, they mean nothing. If tenants make changes or damage your property, don't expect Simon Blyth to inform you. They aren't bothered about managing your property, they are only interested in managing their profits!
You will be told how great they are to have you use their services, but they will quickly forget you when you're signed up.
They hide behind The Property Ombudsman Residential Lettings Code and will only do the bare minimum when 'managing' your property.
If you don't heed this warning and decide to use the services of Simon Blyth Lettings Holmfirth, don't bother making a formal complaint against them. They are a member of 'The Property Ombudsman', TPO are supposed to be an independent body, good luck with getting a successful outcome.

I am a new overseas Landlord. I decided to appoint Simon Blyth as my letting agent as my partner has used them for many years and I have been impressed in the way they handled her rental property. Have been great to deal with. We have rented our property out for over 5 years with another agent in the area.
After feeling we needed a change and after a few issues we asked Simon Blyths come out to value the property.
We were really please with their efficiency from the valuation, to how quickly they marketed the property. The girls in the office have been great and we are very happy with our new tenants and how quickly it all happened.

I can't praise Simon Blyth Lettings enough. Brilliant service and found a tenant really quickly. Angela the negotiator was very helpful throughout the process, which is what I needed as I had no knowledge of lettings. They had an in house maintenance team who decorated the property before marketing and as soon as the work was completed it went on the internet and a tenant came along within the week. Fully deserve their good reputation!
