My landlord decided after a while to bring Peter Alan on board to handle the property maintenance due to distance. Peter Alan took over mid February 2022, with a known issue (was already 6 weeks waiting for it to be sorted before they took over, which was a reason they were being used in the first place). It is now October, nearly a whole 8 months since they were first informed, and still not all the work has been completed. It was mid April (2 months after taking over) when they sent Swift (a contractor and truly an oxymoronic name) to look at the issue, not only has work not been completed over 5 months later, but the person coming around (Peter) authorised unnecessary work as he did not chesk properly what the issue was, luckily the plumber that came around did spot the issue and did make a repair, but still went ahead with the unnecessary work. All this was once agin 10 weeks after the guy from Swift initially came. Decorators were meant to come and tidy up damage to walls, they did a further two months later, despite promises from PA and Swift they would be there many times prior, they done the prep work, and did not turn up for the agreed time the week after to coplete the work. I do not blame the decorators for this as they were waiting for clearance from Swift to do the work. It hasn't been done.
Sorry for the long ramble, but any landlord thinking of putting their faith in Peter Alan (Maesteg), or tenant looking to rent from them, I would seriously think hard against it. The staff have been awful; not chasing up on tasks, sending numerous messages /emails they know the answers to, suggesting to up rent ridiculous levels, all the time not doing a single thing to actually aid the tenant.
And to cap it all off, at the beginning, I was getting threatening emails about not paying rent, despite never missing a payment ever. Luckily my landlord sorted this out, as I couldn't trust these to tie their own shoelaces.

I know estate agents have a reputation for charging lots for very little, but this lot take the biscuit! Hindsight is wonderful, but if you are selling a house beware of the contract they offer you. I was stupidly duped into a fixed price sales contract, which worked out at just short of 4% of my house value! Being my first time selling a house I wish I had read up more beforehand! I was also sold a sole seller contract, which meant I'd have to pay the full fixed fee if I was to sell the house with a different estate agent WITHIN 6 MONTHS!
They did however, get an offer within a few days of the house being on the market, for the full asking price. "Too good to be true?!" I hear you ask. Well, one dodgy damp survey and a dodgy quote later the magical buyers are requesting 10k be knocked off the agreed price of 70k. Now, having learned a bit of a lesson about jumping in two-footed from the initial contract, I took my time with this one. The "sales negotiator" (a term a use lightly, because I witness absolutely ZERO negotiating), advised me to get a second opinion (something she later denied). So I forked out for an independent survey, showing the surveyor the dodgy report. Lo and behold, the report and quote to repair comes back at a fraction of the price. Now, the "negotiator" wouldn't accept my second survey, and insisted I should drop my price, something I could not do, partly die to the extortionate fixed selling fee.
Safe to say, the sale fell through due to the buyers not budging on their 10k request, and not a single ounce of "negotiation" in site.
After this, I decided to stay put and take my house off the market.
Then came the money grabbing.
I recieved a letter asking to pay for an EPC certificate that they obtained as part of the sale (because I pulled the house off the market I was expected to recover their costs). This letter also delightfully reminded me that if I didn't pay within a certain timescale, they reserved the right to add interest onto the requested 90 something pounds.
2 months after I've paid, I'm still yet to recieve the EPC or any other correspondence.
On the bright side, I didn't have to part with the best part of £3k for some woeful service.
Stay away from Peter Alan at all costs!

I would rather be homeless than rent from these again! I had the worst experience dealing with a rude bunch of people. I've had nothing but issues with peter Alan in maesteg! Useless bunch of people, as long as they getting the money they don't give a shit. On my moving In day me and my partner went to get the keys and I asked the guy if the building work was complete and if it was professionally cleaned, he said yes.... I went to the house and it was stinking and there were builders there. I had a one year old and was also pregnant and they made me Clean it. The oven was foul and there were used bars of soap in the shower!!!! Through out the whole time I was there they done nothing to help me! Just hired botch builders! I'm taking them court I am, me and my lawyer are slowly building a case. I've got photo evidence and proof of messages. I will make sure they lose their jobs.

Uploading what seem like great properties at a great price in order to clickbait people into calling seems to be the new marketing plan at Peter Alan, Maesteg.
Landlords; you have to ask yourselves: is this the estate agency you want to associate with?
Tenants; you have to ask yourselves, are the astronomical fees really worth this kind of treatment from what should be a 5 star estate agency?
I would usually expect better from the 'leading' estate agent in the area.
