Had a terrible experience with Mc Raes Estate Agents. I found a property to rent through this Estate Agent. Paid holding deposit while they were doing referencing checks. However, they kept property advertised in all websites including their own after I had the holding deposit for them to remove property from the marked. Moreover, they took too long to get references with Employer although we are calling them to speed up the process. They said they could not do anything as they hire a third party company to do the checks. As a result, they kept part of the holding deposit stating it had passed the 15 days period to pass referencing. Also, they made false allegations that my husband's pay slips were fake because there was no income tax deductions although he had no deductions because he was on the tax fee allowance period but they just assumed we were given misleading information and on these grounds they kept our money. When I try to escalate the complaint they threatened us saying if we do escalate they would report my husband company for not paying tax. They follow all the complaint procedure response in writing but called me directly several time to make these threats. I could not believe I was dealing with a such a dodgy company. I would not recommend this Estate Agents. They are not reliable.

Well what can I say, At first I wasn't entirely sure we had chosen the right agent but boy oh boy was I wrong.
Craig promised myself and my disabled mother a personal,professional service when selling our 4 bed detached house in Highams Park back in June.
What he provided was above and beyond our expectations and even when I was ill, he took the time to (about 2-3 hours) to personally go through all the paper work with my mum as she was finding it completely overwhelmed by everything. Forget Charlie's Angels,Craig and his super team of amazing ladies were there for us every step of the way. Our house was sold within 3 days. Beat that

I highly recommend Mcreas. They supported us all the way with selling our property. Highly professional with excellent communication. The other agents came up with empty promises. I rented from this letting agent for just over 2 years. Terrible property, no heating, no double glazing. I rented from this letting agent for just over 2 years. Terrible property, no heating, no double glazing.
In that time I kept the property in excellent condition and reported any problems with the property to the landlord so they could be resolved quickly. I have since vacated this property and to date have still not received my deposit back! The worst part is despite me sending emails to this agency they have not even bothered to respond to any requests I have made!!
This has left me no choice but to raise a formal complaint to the TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) who are now looking into resolving this and getting my money back.
I can rest easy at night knowing that I left this property in excellent condition and the fact they have not returned my deposit shows me they are not a responsible letting agent. I find it very bizarre that they have not joined this website, but I am glad I have been able to let you know my views on this. Its about time we were able to hightlight the bad letting agents, considering so many people now rent we need to weedle out the excellent from the very poor!
This letting agent in my view is beyond poor.....
