Tom helped me secure a rental apartment in Lewisham. Although I ultimately did not follow through with the tenancy (as I found a property more suited to my needs), my experience working with Tom has been nothing short of excellent.
Tom was very professional, polite and kept me updated on proceedings. I found the entire process of finding a new home very easy and stress-free thanks to Tom. I would happily have him as my agent again in the future and can highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new home.

We had a lovely meeting when we viewed our rental property. In the end it was a relatively straightforward purchase but we were constantly chased for things we´d already completed with the timetable totally set by the other side and near the end to rush the process through our solicitors were told by JP to forget about any outstanding queries. Estate agency needs much more regulation but hopefully soon to be replaced by online agents!

We recently sold our propertly in Blackheath through John Payne. We went with John Payne on the basis of their market reach and after-sales service promoted to us. We were extremely disappointed with the level of service provided after the sale has been agreed - we were kept up to date of the progress only very sporadically, any queries from us required several chasers, and generally we felt like the estate agents dealing with our onward purchase were our main contact point - they chased John Payne on our behalf, they contacted us first to let us know exchange had taken place (JP contacted us about 5 hours later), and they were in touch the day before the completion date to check everything was going smoothly. We hadn't heard from John Payne in the run up to completion date. So if you are after that after-sales service, John Payne significantly under delivered, and I would not recommend.

The service provided by the Blackheath Village office of John Payne is outstanding. Having chosen John Payne as our agents because of the professionalism provided by another of their offices, we benefited from the outstanding service of Hayley, Will and Lee in the varied aspects of sales, renting and as landlords. John Payne in Blackheath Village provides a personal approach and the agents are dedicated to finding the right outcome for all of their clients. They are honest and very fair to all parties involved, upfront about fees and realistic about timescales. Their experience is evident from the moment you set foot in their office and the phone is always answered by someone who is both friendly and knowledgable. Totally unprofessional and not supportive of the 'seller'. Was very stressful from start to finish post BREXIT. Very profit focused and no customer care. Totally unprofessional and not supportive of the 'seller'. Was very stressful from start to finish post BREXIT. Very profit focused and no customer care. This agent has the Blackheath market and acted in a very arrogant way. I would contact the other agents in the area and get 3/4 valuations before committing to this agency and ask questions with regards to building issues, buyer details etc.

I used these estate agents last year. They were extremely unprofessional and rude (after we had payed the referencing fees) and simple requests much more difficult then expected. On viewing the flat seemed fine, however it was clear it had been poorly maintained and not cleaned. The day we moved in, we found black mould behind the bed and bedside tables, and leaks in the bathroom were never fixed.

Very poor experience from the start, numerous mis communications, lack of response initially blamed on new computer system. Inspections missed, issues not recorded correctly. Very poor experience from the start, numerous mis communications, lack of response initially blamed on new computer system. Inspections missed, issues not recorded correctly. The main problem is they failed to tell us about a known problem at the start which if we were made aware off we wouldn't have rented the property as had a year of suffering because of their mis communications. Wouldn't use again, very disappointed.

Since moving to london, we dealt with over 15 estates agents, we never had any bad experience except john payne. They were not friendly and rude. We found one property we were interrested in, after viewing it we were quite keen but they somehow keep telling us that it was not a suitable property for us. We asked them for reason, we would have understood if they were honest with us and keep us informed but they seem to ignore and meddle about, trying to distract us with another properties. I find the way they dealt with us very unprofessional. I would not recomnd them to anyone.
