The Swansea team were Amazing, I dealt with Rhys for the sale of our property and couldn’t have asked for a better service BUT and a big BUT, do NOT use their recommended Conveyancers at Countrywide as we did, they are the worst most incompetent firm you can possibly go for and that’s not just me, they were utterly useless on our sale with poor to non existent communication, you message them something simple and youll possibly get a response a week later, no one ever seems to know what’s going on if you can even get them in the phone. The people buying our house also used them through JF recommendation and they had the same issues. Buying our new house now has taken 2 months and counting longer as they’re holding up the chain and every estate agent and solicitor groans at the mention of Countrywide Conveyancing as they all know how rubbish they are. So do yourself a favour, use JF estate agents as they are brilliant but do NOT use Countrywide no mater how gd a deal they offer, they’re not worth the stress, rather use a local estate agent.

I recently purchased a house through John Francis Morriston branch. Completion of said purchase was December 2018. On receiving the keys I entered the property. After my initial inspection the internal glaze of the double glazed window of a box room was smashed and the glass completely shattered. The windowsill also had numerous dents as though caused by a hammer . The flat roof on the extension had numerous leaks and was later inspected by four roofing companies who all had the same opinion that the vendor and estate agents would have been aware of the state of the roof and the touch ups to the paint work inside where the water was entering the extension . I contacted John Francis ten minutes after receiving the keys to the property to discuss my findings . On contacting John Francis, their response to me was to advise me to phone my solicitor, they obviously did not want any responsibility or liability . To date the roof has needed to be replaced at a cost of £2000 and the new glass for the window plus fitting £100.
This is the fifth rental house I have purchased over the past five years and the worst estate agents I have had any dealings with. I will not be purchasing a property through John Francis again .
My issue with John Francis is that there was no disclosure relating to the roof and the fact that they would have been aware of the issues with the roof prior to the sale and subsequent purchase of the property as stated by the professional roofing companies. I am also very disappointed that they totally disregarded the report of the broken window even though they and the vendor were the sole key keepers for that particular property and the property was in their care between the time I viewed it to the time I received the keys.
