The agent was rude beyond belief.

The agent was rude beyond belief. Refused to let us see the property as we didn’t have a face mask. We would never have worn a face mask when this has not been policy for many weeks now. Had this viewing booked for approx 2 weeks now, traveled 1 1/2 hours to see. Unfriendly welcome, just handed swimming pool blue covers to put on shoes. Then told couldn’t see unless all had face masks on. Child of 10 also with me. Agent was so rude, unprofessional, said well let’s call it day then when we didn’t have face masks. Had 2 texts confirming appt, nothing on either about this. Said left a voicemail day before but I had not heard this. Never experienced such bad behaviour. Would never sell a house with this agent. The minimum they should be doing it paying for my petrol and time and then refusing a viewing. It really upset my child as he had been looking forward to seeing the potential house. My Mother also came to view and was absolutely shocked at what occurred.

Avoid the Gosport branch! What a terrible experience. I would score 0 but I can't.
We paid for a property rental service and they did effectively nothing for the duration. After leaving that service it appears that the tenant never got conclusion to a couple of issues they raised to the Lettings team over a number of months and us as the landlord never received the full information and nor did we receive closure for the actions we approved (for them to 'manage').
Very poor communication, almost no-one answers the phone or respond to messages. They don't care about their service provision (to the tenant and the landlord).
Avoid!!! We should have realised when the smarmy agent viewed the property in their shiny suit and gave a lot of sales chat. We chose them on the figures but in the end we appeared to be throwing them money for nothing in return.

Unfortunately we bought a house through Fox and Sons Gosport and have never experienced such a terrible service ever. They lied about the situation of the property from day one, they lied and held back information through the whole process of the chain. They are incompetent and economic with the truth. They don't return emails or phone calls, and almost seem suprised that someone is asking them to do their job. They were also very sarcastic when they did eventually come back to either us or our agent.
On the day we put the offer in and it was accepted I asked them what happened now - their answer was that it was all down to the solicitor. So basically once they have an offer on the property they don't do anything else, they just move on the next sale. All they are interested in is making money - they won't work to keep the sale going they just leave that up to someone else in the chain.
Luckily we used a different Agent to sell our house and our Agent we chose was absolutely fantastic and if it wasn't for them the whole chain would have collapsed, and this was a very long chain so there would have been a lot of dissappointed people.
I can't believe that this company can get away with the way they work - it should not be allowed. We are certainly telling everyone we know not to use them.

The Property Ombudsman has a clear code of practice. This was not followed when Fox & Sons took money over the phone as a holding deposit - they did not warn about fees and tried to keep some of the money when the landlord turned down application. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
