Hello everyone! I think I should share my bad experience for second time with Dexters Property Management at the Wimbledon branch! I dont know how I can start telling you a long story about our poor experience with services and unprofessional staff still I think i will miss some points. Be honest with yourself . Even a 1star rating is too much for this company! When we were scheduled for a check out inspection they sent us one lady from an inspection company and she checked everywhere for nearly 2 hrs and she believed everything was perfect and not any remarkable problem ! Nice and clean. But after a few weeks she returned a report with a lot of so called problems and from that time until they gave us the deposit back it took one whole month. It was a long time and property management called us every day to split hairs and be knit picking to reduce our refund with funny excuses and no reasonable answering about why they keep our deposit and play with us and every day they cut some money from our deposits for ublivable reason and we can't do anything because our money it was with them! and after lots of headache and complaints they returned our deposit minus a few hundred pounds for so called repairing (actually renovating) of a 100 year old flat! I'm 100% sure they have very good deal with cleaning company and they take lots of benefit from deposite of tenants. if you belive you send some body for last checking to see why after that you bring lots of reason for holding and cutting our deposit? Why you bring very unprofessional staff to your company. Why you don't care about repeated phones and emails of your clients? . I'm absolutely unhappy with this unprofessional company especially wimbeldon branch and I say to all readers please don't waste your time and money with them! It was like a tug of war with them and it can be likened to a Highway robbery Wimbledon Dexters . After what you did to our money and giving us unneeded stress I am afraid to say you do not deserve even 1 star. As a truly unhappy client I will never rent from Dexters any more.

We appointed Dexters Wimbledon Office to be our sole agent to evaluate and sell our property located in West Wimbledon.
Here are the reasons we feel extremely let down by the service we received:
1) The office manager met us at our property, and, as it turned out, overvalued it considerably. He assured us that Dexters would be able to sell our property with confidence. For the âexcellent customer serviceâ we would receive, we would have to pay a sole agency fee of 2% plus VAT, of the selling price. 2) Only a handful pictures of the property were put on property portals. The description of our property was very brief and lacklustre â it did not contain (in our opinion) many of the key selling points. 3) Our property seemed to be a lesser priority and very few viewings took place over the sole selling period (see point 4). There were a number of no-shows/cancellations at the last minute. 4) As our sole agent, the Dexters Terms and Conditions bound us for an extremely long 15 weeks. 5) Often the prospective buyers brought through the door seemed uninterested in the property and the location, which made us suspect they were being forced to view it with others they were more interested in. 6) The agents showing the property were often unprofessional and were unable to overcome objections that came from clients. a. For example, some feedback was that our property needed considerable updating, when the property had been valued by Dexters based on its current state. b. On another occasion, the agent representative arrived with the client at our property 20 minutes earlier than the allotted time without informing us and proceeded to open the front door without knocking. We were in the middle of changing our clothes(!). The client (obviously!) got put off. c. On a further occasion, an agent representative blankly asked me what the house keys were for when I handed the keys to them to give to the office. d. On another occasion (after we subsequently decided to hold on to our keys!) the agent representative was more than 30 minutes late for a viewing and we were not informed. We had to call the office to find out if the viewing was going ahead and we were told to wait another 15 minutes. After waiting for a further 15 minutes, we decided to leave as they were now almost an hour late and our small child was hungry. We were then provided with client feedback for the viewing that never happened.
This whole experience has been draining, frustrating and above all, a huge waste of valuable time over the key Summer months. We watched as a number of properties we were interested in buying slipped by. We did get an apology from the branch manager towards the end of our contract, but for us, this was too little, too late. Unfortunately, we would not recommend Dexters to any of our friends based on the service we received.

The overall quality and communication with Dexters is terrible, we've been told 3 different things by 3 different agents, who apparently don't communicate with each other as each agent was completely unaware we'd been in contact with them before. We paid an early leaving fee (10% of all remaining months) and then had to keep paying rent for 2 months after this. We told them we were going to be leaving in March/April in early February, and they said they'd find someone to take over the tenancy. They then found someone to take over the tenancy in June and told us in mid May that we'd only given them a few days notice. On top of all this, they've told us we need to pay £250 to get the apartment professionally cleaned because, and I quote, "There are some crumbs in the oven".
I strongly advise anyone looking to rent stays away from this terrible agent.

What agent could do to change your mind?
If you stuck to the arrangement you made it would have been fine. Not giving a phone call or an email or anything but just changing it at the last second is absurd.

Dexters were the agent for the rental we lived in for two years. Towards the end of the agreement we approached them and asked about moving out 20 days or so early. They were fine with this and we agreed a date. We had a letter from them with the date agreed and we arranged to pay the early leaving fee (about £150 for the 20 days as per our contract).
However the day before we were to move out we received a new letter with a completely different date. No one had ever mentioned this to us - it was the day before we were due to move so we had no choice - no phone call, no email, just a letter through the door saying we had to pay for an extra 12 days or so at full cost, despite agreeing already that we could move out and pay the fee - in writing.
This cost us an extra £400 or so - no notice, no choice, just last minute fee.
Avoid them if possible.

Absolutely nothing. They behaved deceitfully and are clearly either uninformed of the existence of tenants\' rights or attempting to exploit the possibility that the tenant isn\'t aware of his/her rights. This is a perfect example of why LAs need to be regulated.

They proceeded to market the property and advertise it as available the day after my term ended. Agent was daft enough to put in writing that they will carry out viewings at dates/times without my permission. I got in touch with landlord who had absolutely no knowledge of any of this whatsoever. When caught in the lie, they angrily informed me I must go through them and never contact the landlord. They say they work on behalf of the landlord at every turn, yet clearly act without landlord's permission.
Thamesview property inspections - I caught them letting themselves in unannounced to carry one out at an unscheduled date/time. The day one was scheduled, they never showed up.
Typical letting agent to avoid honestly for both landlord and prospective tenants! I look forward to reporting them to their member association.

DO NOT rent through this agent - all smiles and helpfulness until you pay the 'holding' fee (which does not take the property off the rental market), then they are a nightmare to get hold of unless they want your deposit, then they are aggressive to the point of bullying; falsely advertised flat to us and when we complained they were rude and condescending and we were treated like it was our fault; took over 12 months to fix a serious security issue to name a few. So many more issues, just not enough room to list them all!! Many Landlord reviews state Dexters work for the good of the tenant and tenant reviews state they work for the good of the landlord....they do neither - once they have your money (landlord or tenant) they do NOT care about you and your needs. We are with a new agent now, and the professional difference is amazing - STAY AWAY FROM DEXTERS, THAMESVIEW OR ANY OTHER AFFILIATED COMPANIES
