At a tough time for selling houses with mortgage costs rising, Debbie Fortune estate agents were practical, helpful and realistic. Once a sale was underway they maintained frequent contact with all involved such as the buyers' solicitor and my conveyancer so I knew what the status of the sale was at all times. Such good communications made such a difference.

Our property was brought to the market quickly - brochure within three days and first viewing after a week. However, once a buyer was established, contact by the agent was almost non existent and we had to do most of the chasing ourselves right up to the moving day. Would not recommend this agent, ... Our property was brought to the market quickly - brochure within three days and first viewing after a week. However, once a buyer was established, contact by the agent was almost non existent and we had to do most of the chasing ourselves right up to the moving day. Would not recommend this agent, considering the fees are well above average, the service provided was most disappointing.

What agent could do to change your mind?
If I were selling a property I would want to know that my agent reacted to buyer requests immediately and followed them up promptly. I would also expect them to have a better understanding of what their registered buyers are looking for.

I have only managed once to get these agents to send me any details for properties that I am actually interested in. I made an online enquiry and when I called to chase them up I was told that they wouldn't send me anything if I hadn't registered which is strange as they had previously sent me a set of details on request. However, I registered with them expecting to receive the details within the next couple of days.
They didn't arrive. Instead, they bombarded me with emails of completely irrelevant properties and despite me chasing them several times the details never arrived.
The reason they send me irrelevant properties as the highly important registration process consisted of asking me where I was looking and how much I had to send.
Since this episode I have requested details of a couple of other properties, and unsurprisingly they never arrived.
I was told that they would 'have a word' with the poor chap who actually sent details I wanted, but at least he actually gives prospective buyers what they want.
I am a cash buyer, eager to find the right property. If I had a property to sell I wouldn't use these agents if they were the last on earth!
