I recently had the pleasure of working with Jane and Sarah, at David James Estate Agents Arnold. They were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire selling process. Jane was amazing to speak with as she is just so friendly and organized.
She and her team, knew best which steps to take in order to make my flat sell, and even kindly, out of the blue offered me a discount on fees, because the mortgage + costs were more than the sale price.
Sarah is a very proficient saleswoman, and was a great asset to me in the sales process - She always made sure that she knew what was going on in the conveyancing process and acted very efficiently in any negotiations between the buyer and I. Certainly she has her "finger on the pulse" as to what's going on in the local property market.
Her professionalism and accommodating attitude enabled me to get a fair market price, in minimal time and from sold subject to contract to completion, was one of the shortest I've witnessed.
In conclusion, both Jane and Sarah are extremely capable individuals in the real estate industry – they have provided me with solid realistic advice throughout, and were flexible in their approach. I would highly recommend their services.
Thanks to all of the team at David James Arnold, for all your efforts on my behalf - your hard work deserves praise, and I feel I made the right choice working with you.

Really bad as it hurts and stressful to loose £150 just within hours

They then called my friends and told them that the landlord accepted their application and so they need to pay the application fee so that they can process the references and credit check. At this stage they did not discuss much about what would happen if the credit check fails, they sent their bank details via the phone and requested my friends to do online transfer of £150 application fees of which they did immediately. This was really disappointing after the money went through, they called my friends and informed them that unfortunately, the husband's credit failed and because it was not disclosed on the form there is nothing much they could do about it rather than withdrawing the application.

My friends pleaded that the amount of money was too much to loose within 2 hours and requested if they fee could be transferred to another property. They sounded not bothered and stated that they do not have anything at the moment and they do not expect anything to come in within the next 7 days. They advised my friends to keep on looking on their website to see if they will find anything, I found this not very helpful especially after taking a fee of £150 from a stressful couple who were desperately looking for an accommodation.
I wish there is a way the government or policy makers can control how this sorts of things happens as my friends and probably many others would feel ripped off if all the viewers and applicants went through the same procedures.
A big question is that why a phone call information or feedback about the credit check? Why not evidenced report and how many people have gone through the same , same hour or week? From the information gathered, if a credit check fails, one could be offered to find a guarantor but in this case they said it's not possible as the landlord refused.

Very disappointed with the service we received buying our first home with David James.
We purchased September 2016 and didn't complete until January. The process would've been a lot more smooth flowing and quicker if general communication skills were used throughout!!
I was having to call at least 4 times a week to chase up if we'd even been accepted for an offer, and even after 3 weeks we couldn't be told, even though our offer was accepted the day we offered we found out at a later date!
It all ended up with us as buyers contacting both solicitors to see what was happening so by then David James had no input and didn't even know what was happening by this point.
Would only recommend you buy through David James is if you have time to waste.
(One of my phone calls was very rudely ended by me asking if we had a completion date, to then be told 'we're very busy and don't have time to deal with your queries so please contact solicitors yourself')

Just completed on the sale of my property with Arnold, massive thank you ladies for your hard work. Managed to get over asking price, which was an added bonus! My mother and I looked at each other incredulously before finally Margaret asked what we would like. i'd like to make an offer on a house i say ...rrright she says. can i sit down? i ask and sit down. I said they should hav a call to say we were going at which she got very defensive and said 2noone has said anything, Ive had no calls...well im here now I said can we discuss the property?

So we look at the property I explain my situation (80% cash buyer) and put my offer down. She looks at me in contempt and said oh no they wont accept that (my offer was 3% below asking price!) so I said well are you telling me you wont put it forward?!...she said she would reluctantly. By this time i was getting really pissed off at her looking down her nose at me but we had to go so i waited her call. She did call back and after a few calls an offer only 1k above what i'd offered was accepted. That was six weeks ago. in all this time I have had not one call or email to update me on anything. Everytime i ring im palmed off and email questions are never directly answered. Today after many emails i finally sent a demanding one and 5 minutes later get a call giving me an update on the whole chain!! The woman was saying obviously Mrs XXX is doing this and Mr XxX is doing that and im saying I dont know who these people are this is the first time youve given me ANY info and the woman says oh its because Rosemary has been on holiday this week so it would have been 7 weeks and no update and they think thats acceptable????!!! I wish I could show yoiu the tone of the emails too...I am not addressed by name on any despite me always addressing mine Dear XXXX. DO NOT USE THIS AGENT

I've lost over 1000 pounds because of them. First and foremost they said that my offer was accepted by the seller. But then when I paid for all searches, valuation and when I received mortgage offer, David James just sent me an email saying that I cannot buy that house any more. Also Do not use David James mortgage broker, you will have to wait about 3 months for your mortgage.
