We entrusted Connells with the sale of our elderly & recently widowed mothers property. Connells were more than dreadful , we had to chase them consistently, they procrastinated & dragged out what should of been a quick & easy sale . They made lots of excuses which we later found out were lies . In particular, the mortgage broker lied & deceived us at every turn . After 5 months of messing us around we finally withdrew the sale of the property . The anguish & stress Connells caused my mum & our family has been intolerable. Do not use Connells , they really have behaved in a manner that has been unethical immoral & downright cruel.

ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT AND USELESS WITH THEIR COMMUNICATION!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! DO NOT EVEN BOTHER GOING TO A VIEWING LET ALONE HAVE THEM HANDLE YOUR PAPERWORK!
Me and my housemates are students and saw an amazing student house with great amenities. Got accepted to go through with paperwork in March, paid and signed the holding deposit and completed one page of referencing. Then lockdown happened and we never heard a single email or call from then until June. Despite us an excessive amount of emails and calls and even our University was involved in chasing up the completion of paperwork. Once someone answered the calls from both ourselves and our parents we were just given the excuse "Oh i will call you back later in the day to see what the Landlord says" "I'll transfer you to the other colleague" which was utter lies. This was from a Kingswood agent (Rachel) who was covering for her work colleague (Emma) at the Filton Office. She had told me that she couldn't access any of our documents and couldn't find the contact details of two of our housemates ?? Despite telling us that she was covering for the Filton Office and despite our first ever email with Connells being our contact information. We never heard back off them after those calls for about 10 days. After numerous answering machines and rude incompetent staff, Emma our initial agent came back to work off furlough June 19 and emailed with us saying that due to the pandemic the landlord did not want to rent out the house anymore and would issue us a refund instantly ?? It took Connells 3 months to email us with that one and only email.
They were ridiculous with the refund it took them 2 weeks and a complaint email to even take any urgency to refund the holding deposit. Despite us sending emails about the urgency of refunding it quickly so that we could look for other student houses. We understood that everyone had been affected by the pandemic but an email or call would have been useful. However, as students we deserved to know what was going on with our house and the paperwork.
YOU CAN IMAGINE OUR FRUSTRATION. TIED TO A HOLDING DEPOSIT, INCOMPETENT AND RUDE COMMUNICATION FROM TWO CONNELLS OFFICES. AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE HASSLE, AND UNNECESSARY STRESS THAT THEY HAVE CAUSED ON US. And now being back home from our university term, having to travel back and forth to bristol to view other houses is not the most ideal when a pandemic still exists and some of our families are prone or how we envisioned our summer break to be.

Absolutely terrible experience, by far the worst customer service I have ever come across in any sector. It is a wonder this business is still able to function as a lettings agency.
The property we let through Connells is in a wonderful location and the landlord has kept the property to a nice standard, but unfortunately Connells is doing the landlord and the property a disservice with their poor communication, zero sense of urgency, and simple lack of any customer facing skill set.
A leaky tap was reported at the property in Janueary prior to us even moving into the property. It is now March and the problem is still not resolved. Also, a faulty fire alarm/carbon monoxide detector was reported a month ago and I was ensured this would be dealt with as a matter of urgency since it jeopardizes our safety and puts us at risk. Not to mention I'm sure this would compromise the properties insurance, but here we are a month down the road and nothing, not even a follow up.
Many other matters were meant to be dealt with that I won't mention in detail as they don't particularly bother me, but these were maintenance issues that were meant to be fixed or resolved prior to us moving in and nothing has been completed. Lawn Care, Cleaning, etc... again a major disservice to the landlord and an inconvenience to us the tenants. Please note, I have missed work on multiple occasions to be at the property while various these works or quotes were meant to take place and no one showed up. Actually one time a contractor did show up but the brief she received was not complete and the scope of what was to be done was outside of her companies capacity... so a waste of not only her time, but of ours as well.
Still don't have a full second set of keys as was requested... so unfortunately only one of us has the privilege of entering through the back door of the property. I guess that is better than the first two weeks where we had to survive with just one set though.
Connells truly needs to take a lesson in customer service. I personally will never do business with them again, and will be sure t steer others away from making the same mistake we did in letting a property through them.
Seems from the reviews that they might put in a little more effort when it comes to property sales, but personally I'm not going to risk it.
Counting down the days until this tenancy agreement is over!

I decided to go with Connells and asked him to send me the contract. I then got a phone call from the Giuseppe saying that they could not offer the rate they promised and it has to be the original percentage offered on day one. He said he doesn't have the authority (even as branch manager) to offer rates below the 1% they originally stated. So the couple of weeks negotiating was a complete waste of time. If he doesn't have the authority offer different rates then why did he waste my time. I'm really glad this happened at this stage as it shows how trustworthy they are and how unprofessional they are.

Neither the estate agents connells or the solicitors involved bothered returning calls to either ourselves or the person buying the property who is also unfortunate enough to be using Connells. Constantly make promises they cant keep, lie about the reasons for delaying the sale going through, majorly breached Data Protection by giving out personal information about my partner to someone they had no right giving it to, we are now reporting them to the Property Ombudsman. If you are thinking of using this branch steer clear, their lack of care and professionalism is absolutely appalling. Truly an awful branch of Connells, the staff there should be ashamed of themselves

After signing exchange documents in my solicitors and all ready to go ( as a cash buyer I was exchanging and completing on the same day) it appeared the agent had not forwarded on one of the compulsory forms they were supposed to . It was Friday lunch time , four our days before Christmas and on speaking to Alexandra Tan the branch manager on her mobile to get her to forward on the form she was drunk and incoherent!! Our solicitor was totally shocked .Consequently the form was not forwarded on and the sale didn't happen. However over the Christmas period whilst the estate agent was open but the solicitor was not a higher offer came in and in order to get the sale we had to match it costing us an extra £3000. Also throughout the whole process the agent never returned our calls and each person seemed to give differing accounts of what was going on with the sale leading me to believe they were not always honest with us. All they want is too make money, and if this is through dishonest means the would do it. Do not use them!!!! They certainly do not follow professional codes of conduct. [[EDIT ORIGINAL END]]
