They are absolutely awful. They're almost completely unresponsive and you have to call and email at least 5 times before you get any kind of response (which usually doesn't solve the issue or answer your query). Examples of queries we've had, the location of our electricty meter (this is still unresolved after 2 years!!!), elevator in the building breaking down which took multiple calls and emails and 4 days to fix. How to change the spotlights in the bathroom (still unresolved). We also had the...

As a tenant the service you receive is appalling, communication is forced and quite frankly rude, when they do decide to return calls etc.Only ever had to report 3 incidents in 5 years and each time it was drawn out over days, water suiting from tap, 3 days sink collapsed 2 days and cooker stopped working 2 days. They have left what i consider to be a dangerous state microwave in the kitchen as refused to fix. I had to threaten and state my rights to get landlords details so I could jut inform...

I used Squarefoot as absent landlord and found the service and attitude appalling. Most of the time they seemed to have no idea who was living in the house, rarely made the check up visits promised, or if they did I did not receive any reports. Faults reported to them by tenants to them were relayed to me in panic thereby increasing rather than relieving me of the stress of letting. Repairs were done very shoddily and expensively. Tenants were not given the inventory or checked out. Due to their...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Courtesy when contacted would have been a good start, responding to emails in a timely manner, visiting the property once in a while, using the inventory to check tenants in and out of the property, making sure that the people occupying the house were the same people named on the tenancy agreement, getting repairs done properly and checking them when completed, informing me before getting a new tenancy agreement signed, advising me when rent increases etc should be considered, making regular maintenance checks and ensuring that tenants were caring for the property, being aware of five people living in the house let to three, advising me of a safety issue of a thorny shrub that had overgrown onto a footpath instead of the council having to inform me.

I rented with Squarefoot lettings from April 2010 - October 2013. During this time, their profesisonal conduct and customer service were both well below par. Issues that I encountered included: - not following up on maintenance enquiries, including an unsafe gas metre and broken radiator for 18 months - unanswered emails and enquiries - very rude behaviour (When I emailed this week to enquire what my deposit amount had been, a member of staff responded: "do you know what deposit you paid...

What agent could do to change your mind?
- dealing with maintenance problems within a reasonable period of time (i.e. during the tenancy) - responding to email enquiries in a polite and professional manner, providing the requested information, and treating tenants as paying customers rather than products. - communicating verbally in a polite and professional manner. I.e. Not stating that requiring housing benefit for a period of 1 month would cast \"aspersions on [my] character\" or accusing tenants of being rude when making a complaint. - adherance to the Data Protection Act (i.e. not sharing tenant\'s personal information with others)
