My experience is all to do with deposits at the end of a tenancy and it should be known that Ashtons have withheld a deposit from me unless I sign a fully legally indemnity, indemnifying Ashtons against all legal costs etc in the future. I've spoken to the deposit scheme they use and they are not allowed to do this and are in breach of their contract with the deposit scheme but still Ashtons won't do anything about it. It's led me to believe that Ashtons have no interest in their clients, only themselves. I will not be using them again and would not recommend them.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Release deposits to landlords who have proved the deposit is theirs to take, in compliance with the deposit scheme.

If you rent through them and have a problem with anything in the house (i.e. boiler, fixtures, white goods) do not expect them to help. They never return calls, always have to be chased, try desperately to get you off the phone by giving noncommital answers to questions and most of the time ask you ... Read Full Review
