We rented this house through homequest for 18months, through out this period Homequest proved to be totally incompetent, first we had a damp problem which ended up being solved by the landlord putting in new loft insulation, (which was free!) we clearly told them it was a problem in the roof however they continued to send us letters blaming us, They regularly inspected the house and even sent us a letter complaining that it didnt appear we had bleached our window frames lately, i find this totally bizarre that anyone would need to use bleach on the inside of PVC windows, Then my last complaint, when we moved out they tried to sting us for not handing in a full months notice, (almost £300) however being that we where in out 3rd 6 much fixed term tenancy this is not something which is necessary, as proved by the DPS ADR who ruled in our favour. I will NEVER rent from them again,

What agent could do to change your mind?

I think homequest need to get there procedures checked over by someone in the legal profession as its really not ok to try and illegally take money from people. along with the other small problems, some of there staff need some communication skill training, they deal with peoples homes and a slight bit of common sense would go along way with there line of work, they appear to employ young inexperienced staff probably at a low wage, this will be the route of many of there problems,

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
