I also made the mistake of renting a property via Prfoessional Tennat Finders (PTF). The name is hugely ironic as in my personal experience there has been nothing professional about this agency. When we moved in during November 2011 we were not provided with information detailing which protection scheme our deposit had been put into. All agencies are required by law to provide this information (see the Housing Act 2004). After many, many months of trying to find out whether my deposit had been protected I gave up. The techniques adopted amongst the PTF staff members is either to diffuse responsibilty to other staff who conveniently happen to be 'busy' or to plead complete ignorance around the issue of concern. Myself and my partner have also been lied to on several occassions. Upon moving out of the property during August 2013, I once again requested information regarding our deposit. I was informed by Peter Hollingdale that due to an error, our deposit had never been protected and that he would ensure it was now protected , he stated that he would instruct his accountants to do this. Since this conversation, I have been unable to determine if our deposit has actually been protected and whether it will be returned to us. PTF were very efficient at contacting me to arrange viewings for prospective tennants however have never called me back regarding my frequent requests for information despite countless messages, emails and text messages left with them. I have come to the conclusion that PTF are deeply unprofessional and should be approached with caution. Unfortunately, myself and my partner are now pursuing our deposit via the county court following advice from the Citizens Advice Beaureu, who already happened to be aware of this agency.

7 Nov 2013I can confirm that a relative of mine has had enormous problems trying to recoup their deposit from this company and this has caused him considerable hardship. Due to their actions he has been without money for well over 6 weeks now and has no alternative but to go to court. He has also contacted the Landlord on numerous occasions who assured him this would be sorted out but he is just been getting the run around. I would warn any prospective tenant to stay well clear of this company. They are cowboys.

20 Jan 2014They are an absolute nightmare!! I am owed a deposit which again was never put into the DPS scheme despite me chasing this up repeatedly to get mugged off, by saying the person dealing wasn't in the office. It states in the rental agreement that the deposit has to be registered by law with th DPS within 30 days of moving in. My property was taken away from their management and the deposit was never returned- which when i am a single mum on benefits, struggling to get by is unforgivable. They are a slum landlord agency profitering from people who have no cash. unless unprofessional and should not be allowed to trade.

27 Jan 2014My daughter made the mistake of using these cowboys after they contacted her regarding a flat she was letting, despite the tenant paying them in December one months rent and one months deposit she is still waiting for for the deposit, they sent her an emails stating they would pay her both amounts but it never materialised, she only got one months rent out of them because my husband refused to leave their offices until they processed the payment, taking them to court will do no good as they already have five outstanding CCJ's not paid from last year !!! I have now contacted mike o,Leary at Portsmouth news and he is taking this story up, get in touch with him the more the merrier as their offices have now been closed since middle of last week who knows where they are ? Perhaps it's time the two directors Scott and Adam Dungworth who apparently have a fast experience in this field take control of their company .

These crooks are not only NOT protecting the deposits received by them, they are also refusing to repay them. I took out a full management package with them in 2012 on a number of my properties.
