I am very disappointed with the way I was treated by Linden Homes. When I first reserved the property, I felt pressured by their team to use their recommended solicitor, even though buyers are supposed to have the freedom to choose their own. This immediately raised concerns me. I reserved the home through part exchange, but when they were unable to sell my existing property, they cancelled my contract. During the process, I also felt that their advisor tried to influence the valuation in a way that could prevent me from getting the loan amount I needed. After the property went back on the market, my brother and I decided to make a offer together. Our offer was fully prepared, but Linden Homes refused to sell the property to us. Their advisor even told my brother that their director decided not to proceed because I had previously raised a complaint about how my contract was handled. This felt extremely unfair and discriminatory. We tried escalating our concerns to their head office, but we received no response. In my experience, both Bovis Homes and Linden Homes have shown unprofessional behaviour and poor customer care. It is very concerning a company chooses not to sell a property simply because a customer exercised their right to complain. I am sharing my experience so others can be aware and careful. I will be taking this matter to the Ombudsman so that no one has to go through something similar. In my opinion, they have been the worst developers I have dealt with. Please be cautious when dealing with them.
