I purchased a property through Martin & Co last Monday. On the morning of completion, I was informed by the agent that there had been a leak. We were supposed to move into our first home that day, but instead we found ourselves with nowhere to go. The condition of the property was shocking — it looked abandoned, with green moss on the carpets and clear signs of longterm water damage. This was not disclosed to us in advance. When I tried to raise my concerns, the lettings representative was extremely rude, saying she had “already wasted 20 minutes” on me and that the conversation was over. Considering that we have spent several hundred thousand pounds on this property, this dismissive attitude was completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, on several occasions we were told by Martin & Co that we were “ready to exchange” when we were not — creating unnecessary stress and confusion. I cannot recommend Martin & Co based on my experience. They were unprofessional, misleading, and unwilling to provide basic customer service at a critical time.
