After going to 'Best and Final Offers' on a property marketed by HaymanJoyce Broadway, we proceeded with the purchase of the property through our solicitor. A number of weeks into the process, and 5 days before we were due to complete on our own property sale, we received a call from HaymanJoyce to say they had received another offer on the property and, as the sellers were Gloucester Council, they were obliged to accept the offer. This then prompted a very unpleasant bidding war and resulted in us pulling out of the deal and the other bidder putting in some very strange offers. HaymanJoyce never put up a @Sold Subject to Contract' sign on the house, they never gave a satisfactory explanation as to why they had taken another purchaser to view the property many weeks after our offer had been accepted by the council and were only at pains to tell me that they had acted within the law. They certainly did not act within the bounds of common decency and with no respect the pain and cost they caused us. Their actions have directly or indirectly resulted in additional costs of around £25,000 to us - double removal fees, a year's rental cost, kennel fees, furniture storage costs and more. I refuse to ever use them again and have already told one of their employees this.

We dealt through Broadway office and Charlie Comber. Have had some 7 house moves over years, and generally had poor to very bad experiences with Agents, so naturally start from sceptical base! Hayman Joyce marketed our property for over 6 months. In that time we had 4 viewings two of which we had to do ourselves. By the end of the fifth month our external photos ( taken in February) were making the Listing look dated. HJ had no interest in updating them. They seemed happy to let anyone... Read Full Review
