I had a very disappointing experience with Nina Estate Agents and feel it’s important to share my experience to help others make informed decisions. After my offer on a property was accepted, I was later told the seller had pulled out and decided to to a previous buyer. I later learned that the seller had been told by the agent that my chain would take approximately six months — a claim that was simply not accurate. My chain was well advanced at the time. The previous buyer may have been further along in some respects, but they had just secured a buyer their own sale, meaning the process would essentially be starting over. This incorrect information appears to have directly influenced the seller’s decision to withdraw from our agreement. As a result, I incurred legal fees, we lost our own sale, and the entire situation has had a serious negative impact on my mental health and wellbeing. The stress and upset caused by this experience have been significant and completely avoidable had the facts been fairly represented. When I raised my concerns with the agency, they denied making the statement about the sixmonth chain, even though the seller had relayed it directly to me. I have since filed a formal complaint with The Property Ombudsman and am pursuing recovery of my legal costs through the appropriate channels. I’m leaving this review because I genuinely don’t want anyone to go through the same experience. Buying or selling a home is stressful enough — buyers and sellers deserve accurate information and fair treatment from their estate agent. In my view, that did not happen here.
