I lived as an Anthea tenant 3 years and they've got some of the worst houses I have ever lived in. Their houses have a wide list of problems including wall cracks, leaks and moulding on walls, windows with double glazed window leaks, zero sound insulation, inconsistent hot water, inefficient electricity in shared facilities and a dumping ground Anthea Lettings waste full of mattresses, fridge freezers, boxes, toilets, windows, stoves and other types of recycled furniture. I was in two properties, both in Holloway Road. The first one had mouldy paint, slugs, cockroaches, a broken intercom, no 4G and TV signal and humidity up to 90%! I got this pathetic excuse a garden that you could squeeze four people into which had gutters that led water into the enclosed space, causing soil stenches and extremely high humidity that leaked into my room. During a torrential rainstorm, all the rain got trapped into the tiny space and the water rose up nearly flooding my room until I got the bucket and sorted the problem. After one month of complaining, I was moved into a different room which was arguably worse. The room literally sits above a noisy post office and was by a busy cross junction and next to a smelly petrol station right beside the dumping ground Anthea Lettings waste (which was supposed to be a shared garden). The house came with a broken bed, dodgy power socket, mouldy walls, double glazed window leaks, shared kitchen stuffed with other people’s belongings with inconsistent electricity and inconsistent hot water. Anthea Lettings accesses the front gate to my door to dump piles of recycled furniture so high that my windows couldn't open. All of the piles of rubbish would lay besides my home and mice and foxes come and nest there in broad daylight. During night times, my neighbours often got scared of the foxes lurking around the front door in pure darkness. I then requested Anthea Lettings to install chicken wire to stop foxes from entering the alleyway entrance and a light to the front door so we could see where we were going. So few of the problems I mentioned in both flats ever got fixed and the main reason the lack of care of these rooms can be summed up by one person… Keeley. Keeley is the housing managerland managerlandlord of Anthea Lettings, she oversees Anthea's properties and their issues, however, she is the biggest ******* you will ever meet. She doesn’t care about fixing your living conditions and she doesn’t care of any condition or disability you have. If you have any query in regards to issues in your house her, she’ll either have a cheap quick fix solution that doesn’t last or she’ll make your query seem insignificant and a waste of her time and will yell at you with a condescending tone which leaves me feeling helpless, upset and angry. Keeley behaves like this with all of her tenants including my neighbours, we would sometimes have conversations about how horrible Keeley was to us. She would also make up nonsensical rules and claim I am breaching the tenancy agreement when I didn't, she would make threats to throw out my belongings I didn't listen, gaslighting me in the process. After tolerating Keeley yelling at me and my neighbours years, I stood up myself against her abuse, she then chose to evict me under Section 21 nofault (soon to be illegal eviction process). I have broken none of the actual rules of her tenancy agreement and she took me to court and I ended up homeless now awaiting hostel accommodation. In conclusion, you get an Anthea Lettings property, you will get some of the most lowquality yet overpriced properties that are legally allowed with little to no modernisation or renovation. On top of that, you will have the most abusive, evil, narcissistic housing manager you could imagine. So I only hope that your housing situation isn’t so dire that you end up in one of those rotting rooms. PS: According to my solicitor, I should've called the police on Keeley's abuse to avoid the eviction.
