I'm perplexed as to how people have rated Meyers and the team as outstanding when it was nothing but a horrifying experience letting properties through them. Our first short term let in Christchurch showed us the entire team's inefficiency and then sadly, we had no choice but to go through them again because the next property we wanted to rent was also listed through them. Let's not forget when we were being coerced by George Thornton into choosing a property that was clearly way too small for our family's needs! He was trying to force us into a property that was either owned by a friend of his or somehow he had a vested interest in, even though we repeatedly told him we weren't interested in going through with that property! When they say a property is managed by them, please everyone BEWARE! That undoubtedly means nothing will ever get done or actioned! We had mould build up in the first short term let due to poor ventilation and extractor fan issues in the property and promptly reported the issue to Meyers to have it looked it. Unfortunately, not only was nothing done but rather, after check out, they tried to blame us for the mould and tried to wrongfully take money out from our deposit by citing that we must not have taken care while showering! I mean what more can be expected of us as tenants other than keeping the bathroom door opened, including the bedroom door and even the bedroom window and all this in the winter! It would be absolutely absurd for them to expect us to now also keep the main door of the property open just to air things out! The nerve of this company to insinuate that even after everything we did to ensure the property was left in a better condition than we found it in, that we didn't dust some of the windows so are now liable to pay for cleaning services EVEN THOUGH we actually received the property in a state where there was dust noted everywhere in the pre-tenancy report! STEER CLEAR OF THIS AGENCY IF YOU WANT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! GO TO HOUSE & SON OR BERKLEY'S INSTEAD! We had impeccable experiences with them even though sadly we didn't end up renting through them!
