LANDLORDS -BEWARE - I am a Landlord who instructed Monreal Shaw to rent out my property in E16. I understood that there had been long term tenants (2 people) in the property since signing a tenancy agreement in 2017. I did not increase the rent until 2023. I have now discovered that Monreal Shaw have been letting the rooms in the property - each on an AST whilst also charging for a parking space. The rent they pocketed was in excess of £500 pcm more than I was being accounted to - they have been pocketing the rest. In addition, they have been renting the parking space under a separate agreement and pocketing the money. I have never been advised of a change of tenant, nor have I signed any tenancy agreements. LANDLORDS BEWARE. If any other landlords trust this company to manage your property, I would advise you to visit your property to ascertain who is living there. I only became aware of this as I have changed jobs and now have access to the back office of Rightmove and saw that my property had been advertised for rent - which of course has been denied and put down to an administration error. ~Adam Farrell - I suppose the viewings were " administration errors" too? Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
