Our impressions between an ex-employee and a current member of staff is not at all healthy, as I feel this person is not passing on the true facts. But as an Estate Agent, we feel you should have checked all facts regarding the separation of the garage and the flat, and not taken Ben's word for it. You sold the garage to a person unknown to us and occurred solicitor fees. You also sold us the flat that meant we occurred fees. Seven months down the line it appeared the garage could not be separated from the flat. We feel this is something that you should have checked before anybody was subject to charges. Surely, after that length of time someone must have realised that something was not right. The flat should never have been advertised without the garage until it was separated and the paperwork legally drawn up. As a result we had to buy the flat with the garage which cost us more money. The duty of care is to the buyer and not just the seller. We felt that we were lied to and the communication was shocking. We asked to speak to Scott to have a one to one chat on a couple of occasions but he never bothered to call back. This also happened a number of times when calling the office, a promise of a phone call that never materialised. Everyone knows that buying a property is very stressful and honesty goes a long way. This caused much stress within the family. Bacon need to improve on the communication which is key when dealing with clients and the buying and selling of properties. Just to reiterate again, it was down to the estate agent to make sure the sale was viable. Should not have been advertised without a garage until all legal documents were drawn up. Look forward to hearing your comments about this but as we know communication is shocking.

14 May 2024Hi Rhianna and firstly I would like to say that whilst of course I am so very disappointed and sorry to read your comments and your experience of buying a home be far less than expected, I do want you to thank you for your honesty and transparency, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you feel, as without these constructive comments, we could never improve. On the whole I believe you are right, we put far too much faith in the seller and their respective solicitor, its not our field of expertise, but from this day forward we had already discussed that we would not again sell a property having a split title, until split. The advice given from the outset was this would not be a problem at all, but after months of communication and chasing, as you well know, this proved to be no where near the truth. I am so sorry though that you never felt unvalued as a buyer, that is so out of context for us, we try so hard not to be estate agents, instead focussing only on customer service and normally excelling in such a role. I also apologise that you didn't have my full attention, personal health reasons saw me away from the office a lot during the time when you really needed me and again not receive a service customers would normally receive from me. I hope one day I get the opportunity to show you that we do care and do all we can to ensure all parties involved are happy. Natalie here I promise did work tirelessly to make this all come together for you and would never ever lie, you have my word on this, but we are aware of how the sellers direct communication led to this concern. We are middle people here, messengers if you wish, that have to work to some degree of what we are told being the truth. Despite the pain and delays, you have found yourself a wonderful property and location, so I wish you many years of happiness in residence there

As an estate agent of 20 years I've worked with many other agents in chains as part of the sales progression. You get to recognise the good (and bad) agents. A client of mine recently bought a property through Bacon and Co. Relocating from Leeds. Scott and the team were exceptional. His... Read Full Review

Throughout the whole process of the house sale all the members of the team were excellent - keeping us up to date with the process and encouraging us to liase with our solicitor when things were on a go slow. I used Jake and the team at Bacon and Co (Broadwater) to manage the sale of our house. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
We hope you will never feel the need to complain, but in the rare instances that this is required, please contact the branch for a full complaints procedure checklist.
