Absolutely unbelievable company. When we viewed the flat they were putting in new fixtures and we were told they would have it cleaned before we moved in. But when we moved in, there was construction dust everywhere and used Q tips in the wardrobe from the previous tenant! Absolutely disgusting. In addition, we have had leaks in every room, which they have blamed on the upstairs tenants overflowing their bathtub (because of course they have a tub in every room and love overflowing it). Even if it was them, they were also Swayes tenants, so it is their responsibility. We were without lights for weeks because of water in the fixtures, and we had to get the council out to get them to do any repairs. Now we have damp in the walls and it's making my fiancee sick, as she has asthma and her GP said the damp is making it worse. The wallpaper is peeling off, there are dark spots, bits of wall are crumbling. I've asked to have a reasonable 33% rent reduction and to be allowed out of the tenancy early, but they've failed to answer my letters or return calls until I either call them or come to their office in person to demand an answer. They only answer with an excuse, like a flu (that healed only on the day I called; and of course no other employee could deal with my problem), or a sudden death in the landlord's family, or some other contrivance (maybe next month I should tell them ,"the dog ate my rent", since we always pay the rent early). It looks like I'll have to take this through the courts if they don't respond with a real answer soon. Avoid.
