Hotspur Residential are absolutely the worst lettings agent that I have ever used either as a tenant or landlord. Their sole purpose is to squeeze more profit out of every interaction with you. As a landlord they take hugely inflated charges for small repairs from the rent payment without confirming with you first – they charged my £163 to replace a basin u-bend. Despite being paid for by me as the landlord they have always acted in their own best interests to either cut corners or to charge more money. Over the last 5 years I have also received many complaints directly from the tenants regarding the actions of Hotspur Residential regarding the tenant support service. Unfortunately there are few alternatives for letting agents in the Alnwick area and so as a direct result of the Hotspur Residential poor and unaffordable service I have chosen to sell this property. One house less on the rental market = more demand = higher rent prices. It isn’t the landlords that create this situation it is the unscrupulous actions of agents like Hotspur Residential. Either as landlord or tenant, Hotspur Residential should be avoided and I would recommend using an online agent in preference to their inadequate and over-priced services.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
