It’s a shame that you can’t give minus star reviews. They don’t call them F**ckstons for nothing. I strongly recommend that you do not rent from Foxtons. Our experience with the Chiswick branch was awful. Firstly we were “sold the house” by Harriet guaranteeing that it would be in “show home condition”. When we moved in in January 2021 we were aghast at the condition of the place, so much so that we took the keys straight back to their offices and said that we wanted to cancel and threatened legal action if they refused. Iain, to his credit tried to remedy the situation though he didn’t think that any of the problems should prevent us moving in namely: The boiler leaked and we had no heating or hot water. The oven didn’t work. The house was filthy, it had not been cleaned properly. The sofa looked like it had been taken off a skip. Both mattresses were urine and blood stained. The walls are carpets were covered with marks and stains. The curtains had tears and stains…..the list went on….but Jonathan at Foxtons thought the house was in good enough condition to live in and that we had unrealistic expectations about what an 8 year old rental should be like (bearing in mind, dear reader, that we were paying £2595.00 per month!!). It took a full month to get the house fit to live in but they weren’t able to remove the stains on the sofa, carpets and curtains. We replaced the mattresses at no cost to the landlord. We finally moved in in February but had to pay the rent for January even though we weren’t in but regularly went backwards and forwards letting cleaners, painters and engineers in and out without any word of thanks from Foxtons. At the end of the term they wanted £1235.00 for damage caused to (yes you’ve guessed it) the sofa, walls, carpets and curtains as well as other historical damage caused by previous tenants. If you are foolish enough to rent from them make sure you take plenty of photos of everything because they will try and stitch you up when you leave.

Pay very high charges then expect to do all the work yourself getting quotes and repairs done, and cleaning and removing rubbish. You'll pay for any damages the tenants do too. If you don't do the work yourself they will let the property run down. They don't even bother visiting... Read Full Review
If Foxtons manage your short lets expect to pay 30% of your rental fee to them plus at least another 10% or more in additional fees and charges. Exceptionally poor value for money. It must work out at £500+/hr of time they actually spend working on your behalf v's money charges. And the tenants are ripped off too.
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
