Disgusting how they treat people !!! Called me about a property I was interested and asked where we are from as soon as he heard brazil and Portugal he done a weird noise as he was disguise by our nationality. I then said I wasn't interested anymore because he sounded so so upset after I said where I was from . He then called me again to say I don't afford the property !!!! seriously I feel discrimination and poor costumer service ! Also to the person I spoke with GROW UP the property I aam at the moment costs more and I don't have any problem paying for it. Only moving to be near family and friends. Horrible to say to a possible costumer they ccant afford it. m

28 Jun 2021As a matter of right to a reply I wish to advise that I did not make any noise after asking where she and her partner were from. This was never an issue but I had the right to ask where they were from in order to know if they had the right to live in the UK as is required by law to us as agents. In fact the initial conversation started by me trying to assess their ability to pay the rent so ask how many people were it for being a 3 bed house for rent at £1950 pcm and she replied a couple with 4 kids . 2 x 3.1/2 years old and 1 at 9 years and 1 baby of 9 months. I asked what she did for work and she said a self employed beautician and her husband self employed as a driver for Amazon. I said I would need proof of income should they want to rent the house and then she said they used the same accountant. I said I would need to contact the accountant who must be in the UK and the accountant must be able to confirm they have been trading for at least 2 years and that their income be confirmed to qualify. She then went mad telling me I am asking intrusive questions and that she change her mind and did not want it. I said I must know if they can afford to pay the rent and expenses and she then hung up.
