Terrible letting agent. We had two of their staff member who misled use into signing a year contract. We were looking for a property that allowed a cat. Phil had already showed use around a few properties. This time we had Jessica show use around. Usually estate agents know about their property however Jessica knew very little. When we come to take the property we were asked if we wanted to add the cat to the contract however we didn’t have a cat yet so declined. A week after moving in we adopted a cat and rang Elliott oliver to add to the contract. We were told no and to “get rid” of the cat. When I questioned why were weren’t allowed now as we were offered at time of application, I was told where’s your proof?!. We didn’t get it in writing as we trusted Phil. Big mistake that was ! We were told that calls aren’t recorded so we have no proof. We ended up paying to leave the tenancy early which cost £100s . Even the time we were there it was dreadful. First day in an no electric even though a new Consumer fuse box was installed days prior to us getting the keys. Hot water and heating didn’t work for over a week aswell. Reported on their App however they never acknowledged this report so had to ring them. Tried to charge us for multiple problems when we left aswell, once argued most got taken off. They even messed up the meter reading between tenants which I managed to adjust .... 2 months after we moved out ! Just beware of these “professionals”, get everything in writing and don’t work with Phil !

I have investigated this with the team and I understand during the viewing you asked about the possibility of having a cat to which my colleague Jessica advised “Maybe”. When you then proceeded to take the property, Phil asked (as we do to all applicants) who would be moving into the property and do you have any pets, the notes on the system reflect you having said no to pets, but you may want to get one in the future to which Phil advised that we would have to seek the landlords approval to that when the time came. When you moved in, I understand the landlord quickly noticed that you had a cat and was unhappy about this not being agreed first, which ultimately led to her asking you to find another property. We have no need to lie to let a property and that particular property had plenty of interest from other applicants. I would respectfully disagree with your comment about our lack of professionalism, we have many positive reviews that suggest otherwise.
