I rent a flat through slater Hogg/ country wide. I reported an issue with my bathroom light every time I turned it on there were sparks coming from the fan and all the ceiling lights blew, no one seemed to care and left it like that for way over 6 months until I then had to report it AGAIN at the flat inspection for something to be done about it. Then on 04/08/2020 part of the buildings ceiling caved in!!! I reported this to my estate agent only for them to ignore me, I called, I emailed and NOTHING, FINALLY someone got in contact and said they would send a company out to review the damage, 2 contractors were sent out and I was told my landlord rejected the quote, my neighbour then contacted them and he was told the contractor turned down the job as it was too big for them to undertake! Since then myself and my neighbours have had MULTIPLE contractors/roofers out. ALL of which turned down the job due to the volume of work required, I’ve been told the building was unsafe, neglected and the landlord and estate agent think this is acceptable for me to live in and still expect full rent payment!! Due to this I have had to look for somewhere else to live due to the fear of my safety and slater Hogg don’t give a damn!!! Only advise I have is to avoid at all costs they are so unhelpful and seem to avoid problems hoping the tenants will give up trying to contact them! Would NEVER recommend to anyone!! Will be telling people to avoid them!!
