I recently had the misfortune of needing to get back into contact with this agency again, a year on from leaving a property which was managed by them. When I left the property in Feb 2019, it took me two months to get my deposit returned after countless emails and phone calls. It took me having to threaten legal action for them to finally transfer it over to me. During my tenancy they seemed nice and helpful at first, but then if you come to them with any problem or issue, their business strategy is to ignore you in the hope you will get bored of chasing it up with them and you’ll give up. I recently had to contact them again, as I discovered they had put the Thames Water bills in MY NAME when they should never have done so because the bills had nothing to do with the tenants. It was all bills inlcluded but they passed over my details without any of my knowledge or permission?! We paid £850 for all bills included, it is the agency’s responsibility to take care of the bills and them only. I only found out they were in my name because my credit rating had taken a 150 point plunge claiming I’ve missed various payments with an account in arrears of £550, which I never knew existed?! Who on earth would do that?? I contacted them about this issue really politely with an open mind and with the faith that they had maybe changed a year on from my last contact, and perhaps just maybe they had taken on board the countless 1 star reviews they’ve received. At first Erestina at Ashford Reeves was pleasant, and told me she’d sort it out and was reassuring. As soon as I followed her up with emails that nothing at all had been done or paid on the account four weeks on?!? She then went completely radio silent. She ignored my phone calls, emails, texts and even hung up when she accidentally answered thinking I was someone else. Don’t bother trying to reach out to anyone higher at that place either, I emailed other colleagues and everyone ignored me. I am in complete disbelief of this agency and their utter incompetence. I’ve never had the experience of this kind of level of unprofessionalism in all my life. Because Erestina refused to speak to me, in the end I had to hunt down and contact the landlord to sort it out (who pays this agency to deal with tenants on their behalf - not to deal with themselves), and she apologised to me and was appalled by the agency’s behaviour. She assured me she won’t be renewing her contract with them and I suggest any other landlord or tenant considering their services, to not even touch them with a 10ft barge pole. I’m sure none of you are fooled by these ‘5 star reviews’, talking about incredible service, from a google account which only has 1 review and their location as Isle of Dogs (Ashford Reeves office). But to any of you which are still not deterred from the endless negative reviews about this agency - DO. NOT. GO. NEAR. THEM. I know it’s tempting when there’s a lovely house/flat you really want and this is the agency who manages it, and you think these reviews are just isolated incidences and it’ll never happen to you - I can assure you it will happen to you too at one point. When you get landed in a dirty hovel they said they’d ‘deep clean’ and fix up prior to you moving there... when something goes into disrepair and no one will respond to get it fixed... when you’re patiently waiting for your deposit to be returned and they refuse to hand it over... when they break promises previously made and won’t take responsibility for any of it... just remember what everyone on here said about their experiences and you think how you didn’t listen to them. I really hope one day Ashford Reeves will either learn the lessons of their poor management model, or they finally go out of business, whatever one comes first... fingers crossed it’s the latter.

2 Jun 2021Sam, We are looking to take a group civil suit against Ashford Reeves and trying to get a group of everyone who has had a bad experience with them and has email documentation/pics/proof etc to go with it. If you are happy to do so, please let me know so we can get the ball rolling. Also if you have had any contact with others who have had a negative experience with these guys.

31 Jul 2021Hello, I'm having the same issue of not getting my deposit, also I was told it was protected with Deposit Protection I got in in my contract, however when I've logged on my DPS account it's not there with my previous protection schemes? Would be interested in this group civil suit.

4 Aug 2024Hi, Ashford Reeves owes my money for some maintenance works I have completed in some of the properties. They have not paid me and have been a couple years. Hope someone can guide me as to where they can be found and who to reach out to as I am looking to get collection agency involved.
