Forest Gate is a hidden gem that is just buzzing with life and a hive of activity. With most of the property in the area built in the Victorian era Forest Gate has a charm that is unsurpassed east of the Thames. Originally the way in to Epping Forest, a gate was placed to stop cattle roaming into residential areas and Forest Gate was born. Part of the original forest area is still a large green recreation space, protected by law from development, called Wanstead Flats, and is hugely enjoyed by locals for sports, events and picnics alike. A genuine community has built up around good Ofsted rated schools, great coffee shops, local traders markets and events of all kinds such as the annual Forest Gate festival. At the heart of Forest Gates’ commercial area we are actively involved in our community in more ways than one. Around the Christmas period we can be caught donning elves outfits as part of our ongoing sponsorship of local school events. We are genuinely part of this community ourselves, not only are we estate agents but we live here as well and take pride in our area.
With only a short journey to Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford, and a hop, skip and a jump to reach the 2012 Olympic Park, Forest Gate in Newham is now a highly sought after area in the East End of London. We have fantastic connecting bus routes throughout the area including a night bus service to and from Oxford Circus. A useful Super Cycle highway is a popular new feature throughout Newham for cycling commuters. Transport links to central London are quick with a local mainline train running through the heart of Forest Gate. Stratford and Liverpool Street stations can be reached directly in 4 minutes and 12 minutes respectively. Forest Gate residents are set for an exciting future as we are privileged to see CrossRail coming in 2019. Now is as good a time as any to consider our little corner of London.

Wilkinson’s are the best Estate agents you could hope to find. Forget all the stories and experiences you’ve had with the high street agents, Wilkinson’s are a local business with a personal touch. They know the area and the market and are indefatigable in their approach to getting your property sold. From the start of to the end of the process Eve, Jake and Will were professional, but friendly. Always approachable. They took professional looking photos and made sure our property had a presence on all the important online portals. They were always courteous when arranging viewings and respectful of our home. They can help you find anything from trustworthy solicitor’s to removal companies!
